Crema's Take

Ctrl Z's Filipino-inspired specialty drinks like the ube latte are the real draw here—creative, flavorful, and a genuine departure from the typical Chicago coffee shop playbook. It's a small, dog-friendly spot with solid espresso fundamentals and a racing-themed vibe that works best for a quick catch-up or focused study session rather than lingering, though Kelly's consistently excellent service makes even the cramped moments feel worthwhile.

It was my first time going here and didn’t realize it was a Filipino cafe! This cafe knows how to serve good unique coffee as well as traditional coffee drinks. Special shout out to Kelly who was so kind and friendly to us, her latte art was on point! Will definitely go back!

A chill spot for a catch up with a friend. Better suited for a cafe study session than an elongated hang. The Pan Ube was flavorful. The cortado was solid. The matcha ube was earthy and not sweet. CTRL Z is chill respite from the snow.

Small spot with racing decor and photography memorabilia. Seating and pastry selection are very limited, but what they had was pretty nice. They do not do any drip coffee but have very reasonable and very good pour overs. Worth swinging by if you're in Bridgeport.

this place has been my go-to spot for the last 6 months anytime I am in the neighborhood, which says a lot because I don't stay loyal to mediocre coffee. The coffee is consistently excellent - smooth, balanced, and clearly made with intention. The space is genuinely cozy (not…
