Black Stallion Coffee Company
225 W Fairview Ave, San Gabriel, CA
Crema's Take
“This San Gabriel roastery operates more as a serious coffee producer than a casual café—you won't find a quick grab-and-go experience here, but rather a space where you can witness roasting happen and engage with genuinely exceptional, intensely clean beans that inspire people to invest in grinders just to do them justice. The polarizing reviews suggest Black Stallion demands intention from visitors: those who come prepared to appreciate their espresso-focused, specialty roasts find transcendent coffee, while drop-ins expecting a standard brewed cup often leave disappointed. Scott and his team have clearly built something for coffee lovers willing to meet them on their terms.”

Would give it zero stars if I could. Bad beans. Bad roasting. Bad service.
They clearly roast coffee inside. But I was looking for a brewed cup before going to a job. Ended up having to go elsewhere for an ordinary cup. Don't show up in person and expect to buy coffee. I just re-read their description and see that they're currently in the process of opening a cafe. I missed that when I skimmed it before showing up.
I would like to apologize to all local coffee roasters, but I can't keep silent and must reveal this secret to the public! Black Stallion Coffee is heavenly delicious, pure intense clean taste, supercalifragilisticexpialidocious... What else can you say if you finish a 5lbs bag for 2 within two weeks? And nothing can beat the price. Scott is a very sweet owner and very helpful with any questions. I am delighted when the case is treated with passion! ❤️
The owner, Scott sent me 2 bags of Black Stallion Coffee Co’s best sellers to review on my Instagram profile. I’ve never done a review online before and that’s a testament to how impressed I was with this small batch roaster based out of LA, CA. Very impressed with the price point for the quality you get.
I have been ordering from this company since it first opened and I have to say, this is some of the best coffee I have ever had. I even bought a grinder for the first time to experience the full flavor of the beans. The Ethiopian Yirgacheffe and Columbian Huila Supremo are my favorites. As a business owner myself, I would rather support this small business than going with the larger brands. Veteran and Black owned...support Black Stallion!!
