Crema's Take

Black House Cafe is a delightfully quirky horror-themed spot in Fountain Square where the Gothic atmosphere is just as memorable as the coffee itself. Their creative specialty drinks and consistently excellent pastries—particularly the almond croissants and empanadas—pair perfectly with their strong pour-over game, making it worth seeking out even among the neighborhood's many options. It's a cozy, character-filled place to linger with a laptop or meet a friend, though seating is snug, so expect an intimate vibe rather than sprawling space.

This Horror-themed coffee shop is very visually appealing! Horror movies are not a huge thing for me as they actually make me laugh, but I like different so I have been wanting to try this place! It is a small area to sit in, but we went on a late Monday morning to which it was not as busy! The latte I had was filled with good flavor! And Alex got a smoothie which I had to try and it was amazing! He loved it as well! The barista was so beyond friendly! Very top notch! Good vibes and wonderful drinks! Definitely recommend! Plenty of parking, but in a location within a short walking distance to many stores located in Fountain Square! Definitely recommend! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

There are quite a few coffee options in Fountain Square but I must say Black House has the most scrumptious almond croissant- they are always on point. They also have a unique drink menu that gets me from my drinking my norm. I tried the Ghostface yesterday and it was delish. Staff is always kind (in a spooky way ) and it's always clean. I live over an hour away but it's worth stopping by when in Indy.

Staying at an Airbnb that is probably owned by the same people right behind the cafe so we went there for coffee yesterday morning. My friend got a hot coffee and I got an iced, so when he said their coffee was really good, I was thinking, well the coffee was good but with getting an iced I couldn't really tell how good. So I went back there today and got a hot coffee and he was right. The coffee was great, service is fast and friendly. The only downside is the location isn't great so you have to know how to park behind if you want to visit, or stay at their Airbnb. The theming is based on old 80s horror movies, so is their Airbnb. They also don't have many seats... Maybe 4 tables, so don't plan to go there for a seat, unless you are going during their non busy hours. I will be getting one last cover from there tomorrow which is it last day.

If you like death and scary stuff this is your place. Coffee and treats were pretty good. Space is tight inside so not much seating. There is some outside seating but limited too.

Great selection of drinks! There are even a few non-coffee drinks. The food is good, but the empanadas are great. The best part of this place is the atmosphere. The staff were amazing, but a little understaffed.
