Crema's Take
“Tucked in Pilsen, this vibrant café wraps you in Mexican and Latin American warmth through its bright pink walls, whimsical alebrijes, and full piano—making it feel less like a coffee shop and more like a colorful living room where creativity thrives. They nail the specialty drinks, particularly their signature creations like the dirty abuelita and creative matcha offerings, while the kitchen brings genuine flavor through chilaquiles and avocado toast that go beyond typical café fare. It's the kind of place where you'll want to linger over your coffee for hours, whether you're meeting friends, working on your laptop, or just soaking in the art and charm.”

Stopped by La Malinche Coffee & Tea House in Pilsen to try something new. Place is nice and quiet. Bright pink walls, little decorative hearts, alebrijes all around and full piano in the room. Felt cozy right away. The staff were really welcoming, for an early morning. I got the hot chocolate. Honestly that’s exactly what I needed that morning. It had that real Mexican chocolate taste. Thick, creamy, smooth and rich. The cinnamon came through warm but not too strong, plus a little extra on top that hit your nose before the first sip. Sweet and it almost had this slight earthy note too… hard to explain but good. It even had that little design on top, like the ones they do on cappuccinos. Didn’t expect that but it was cool. I finished it slow. Didn’t wanna rush it. Just sat there taking small sips and enjoying it while it was still hot.
The place is small but very friendly, my first time in this place. I recommend it 100% the coffee ☕️ is delicious 😋. Chilaquiles green. Very good.👍🏼
Great vibe, great coffee, plenty of seating. Good for a lighter snack, we were hungry and ordered a salad and avocado toast.
Cafe featuring Mexican and Latin American flavors and flair. Loved the colorful art murals and decor. Food and pastries we got were solid and the dirty abuelita was delicious. Definitely worth stopping by, there's a good amount of street parking once you get off Halstead.
The drinks were good, your basic café fare. The food was the most disappointing, not very memorable but definitely will do the job if you're looking for a quick bite. I had a muffin and the cassanova crepe, along with the iced Matcha latte. Crepes are made in house, bakery goods are not. The stars of this local café are the atmosphere, staff, and other patrons. It's a beautiful local spot with charming empolyees, and chill customers. Have a coffee or tea, bring your laptop, or current project you are working on... relax and be productive you will fwel welcomed and at ease. This is the place for it.
