Crema's Take

The Grind brings serious espresso chops to Dover, crafting thoughtfully made specialty drinks that earn passionate devotion from regulars who praise their consistency and creative flavor work. The welcoming, upbeat atmosphere makes it equally suited for a quick caffeine hit or lingering over pastries and light food, though you'll want to budget extra time if the kitchen's slammed—but fans say the quality makes the wait worthwhile.

I had high hopes for this place but it fell very flat. I ordered two breakfast sandwiches a regular sausage, egg and cheese and a Salty Chick along with two lattes. I got a regular latte which was lukewarm. The milk wasn't steamed nearly enough. My wife's latte was ungodly sweet. You obviously know its going to be sweet when you order a flavored latte but half of the syrup could've been used. The barista, who seemed nice, was extremely slow which makes the under steamed milk even worse. The really sad part was watching our sandwiches get tossed in the microwave. We all know things get microwaved, but just seeing it so blatant and in your face was shocking. If I wanted a bad microwaved breakfast sandwich I'd go to Dunks. I would honestly rate the sandwich below a McDonalds' sausage, egg and cheese. Even though McDonalds is also microwaved at least the english muffin is properly toasted. I really wanted this place to bring something to the town. The Big Bean was a sit down full breakfast restaurant which filled a hole that was missing. This place adds another sandwich shop that isn't needed. If you want a delicious sandwich do yourself a favor and walk two minutes in any other direction. Rise and Grind will actually cook you a fried egg for your sandwich and has house made syrups for your latte, Freedom Cafe delivers home made english muffins and pastries, the Works churns out solid food extremely fast, Breaking New Grounds offers coffees from around the world and if your in a greasy spoon vibe go to Franz.

The drinks are really sweet but good if you order the right thing. The food takes forever. I ordered a bagel with cream cheese and there was no line. I waited 25 minutes for it. It tasted good but no reason for it to take that long.
