The Summit Bar
133 Avenue C, New York, NY
Crema's Take
“The Summit Bar is a hidden gem that transforms seamlessly from daytime coffee spot to evening cocktail sanctuary, with bartenders creative enough to suggest warming hot toddies when the espresso machine closes. The intimate, wood-lined space cultivates that rare quality locals fiercely guard—a genuinely quiet and cozy refuge from the city's noise, where thoughtful service, signature cocktails like their standout Old Fashioned, and light bites create an atmosphere that feels genuinely welcoming rather than pretentious.”

I stoped for a short time during happy hours and I ordered dozen of oysters and beer. The atmosphere was calm and cosy and the service was great. I also like the wooden decor in the place and warm light.
Popped in for a quick coffee before dinner at a nearby restaurant. Because it was after 4, coffee was no longer being served, so the bartenders suggested hot toddies to warm us up! Perfect! The drinks were delicious and the staff was very friendly and informative! I will always stop in when I'm in the Lower East Side!
This is one of the places I almost don't want to review because I want to keep this for myself. I love how quiet and cozy and hidden from the general public this is. Living, warm, welcoming. This place has its own dog who might sit with you. The food is the handmadest special creation you'll eat today; it will make your own home cooking feel generic. The decor is spot on and classical French bistro of the sort you only expect in old movies, but never think you could encounter in real life. The pastry displays make all other pastry containers in the city feel jealous and cheap. The owners know my name. The light from the street lights up the seats at the window just the right way. There's a small step at the front door that is a minor obstacle for people with a rollator but it can be managed. There's outdoor seating. The owners get extra points for taking care of the tree in front of the cafe.
What more can you say then incredible. The bartender top notch ✅. Atmosphere ✅ Tapas ✅ great vibe✅ with all the options in the city this one is a no Brainer. P. S. Order the old fashioned you won't be sorry..
The Summit Bar!!! When I first heard about this place I thought this was a bar that the tech house artist John Summit owned. Found out that the two are unrelated. (But both great) This establishment is so amazing that I’m still sitting at the bar here but couldn’t contain my excitement to write a review about it. I can go on for days about the cocktails here. You cannot go wrong with anything that you order here. The most underrated item on the menu is the hummus platter. I don’t know what they put in the pita bread here but it’s heavenly. It literally feels like you’re chewing on the most delicious clouds. BEWARE of the popcorn though. It’s addicting! Too good
