Crema's Take
“This roastery brings irreverent charm and genuine warmth to Chattanooga's coffee scene, with a playfully sacrilegious aesthetic featuring vintage religious art and salvaged church pews that make every visit feel like a delightful secret discovery. The baristas are as welcoming as the atmosphere is cozy, crafting consistently excellent coffee in a thoughtfully designed space that celebrates inclusivity and community alongside perfectly executed specialty drinks. Whether you're catching up on work or grabbing a pre-game caffeine boost, Mad Priest manages to feel both artfully distinctive and genuinely inviting—the kind of place where you'll want to linger.”

This place Is such a vibe. I came here before my daughter's soccer game and these girls were giddy with all the random surprises they found hidden about the place. Growing up a former Catholic I totally appreciated all the details from the gothic style to the confessional to purgatory bathrooms and exorcism touches. Chef's kiss on being totally original. Great employees, knowledgeable on coffee and blending flavors- they aren't scared to create something on the spot for you. I'll be back every time I'm in town!
The mad priest is a great artisan roaster and coffee shop with a satirical religious theme. They have lots of old religious paintings, even in the bathroom. They have at least one old church pew. Unfortunately, they don’t do pour overs, which is a little puzzling, but their drip coffee was quite good as it is made in small batches fairly frequently. Ours was a Honduran named “left behind”. I also had a Breve which also was good. There is a variety of seating, including some cozy niches. You can also purchase beans in 12 ounce bags, which are reasonably priced considering the quality. The baristas were friendly, and knowledgeable. They were happy to answer questions about their coffee process.
I love MP’s new space!! It’s a unique and inclusive space. I love that about them. I’ll always support a business that is on the side of all humans. Their veggie quiche was amazingly good.
The baristas are lovely and the new space is so cozy; it’s comforting to be surrounded by wood and warm colors. The temperature feels like a slightly cracked open oven which is perfect temp for the light sweater I had with me. I love when they have new drink specials to try. This season the drinks are Lord of the Rings themed
One of my new favorite spots in town to sit and work! Love the vibe and atmosphere of the new location on McCallie. My coffee is always great, made quickly, and everyone is kind. Very inclusive and tons of seating areas. Definitely check this new spot out!
