Crema's Take
“Chocolaterie Stam in Jordan Creek is a decades-old chocolate destination where hand-crafted truffles and confections steal the show, though their specialty coffee and creative drinks provide the perfect complement to their decadent sweets. Whether you're grabbing a single truffle or a boxed assortment, this family-friendly spot delivers consistent quality and genuine care—locals have been returning faithfully since 1998 for a reason. It's the kind of place where every flavor tastes intentional, making it worth the splurge for those who appreciate chocolate done right.”

Used to visit frequently across many of their locations but in particular at the Jordan creek location an interaction with a bitter and rudely toned employee lady questioned whether or not I was going to buy gelato when I was testing out the flavors. I always used to get the gelato here because I enjoyed the unique flavors and the younger staff were lovely to work with but this lady employee was blatantly rude and unprofessional. Due to this treatment, we won’t be returning.
I have frequented the Chocolaterie Stam on Ingersoll Ave since it the first opened in 1998 and have never been disappointed with the product or the service. The service has always been attentive to all of my questions and happy to help. Today January 25 my husband and I visited the Jordan Creek shop and we were happy to find they had sorbet. We were greeted by one friendly young employee with smiles and joy, while the other employee proceeded to do nothing less than ooze bitterness and dislike of any interaction with any living being. When I asked our joyful employee a question about what we were purchasing the other employee chimed in with, “We don’t know, it does not come in labeled”, in a tone that matched her refusal to smile or show any possible positive interaction even with her co-worker. I feel sorry for the joyful young woman having to work in such an atmosphere. Needless to say I will be continuing to go to the Ingersoll store, The Jorden Creek Mall manager needs to revisit some of their staffing choices. Unless that woman was the manager, and if so I feel very sorry for that store.
The best chocolate in the world. In my opinion! I usually get a few truffles to enjoy. Every flavor is good. Every single one. They sell boxed sets, singles, chocolate bars, fudge, coffee, seasonal chocolates, gift sets, candied nuts & espresso beans, and more. It was $8 for 6 truffles at this visit. Had the lemon, berry, coconut, cinnamon, butter, and hazelnut. I love that not only do they taste great, they are beautiful to look at. Each truffles was a different design. So pretty! If anyone wants to get me a gift, these would be perfect. Their story is amazing as well. 3 or 4 locations in the Des Moines area to choose from. All have super service and selections.
This was my first visit. I bought four different flavors, all of them were wonderful. My favorite was the dark chocolate Champagne. My daughter bought several different flavors also and was very happy with the quality of the chocolates she bought. We will definitely be returning.
One of the top chocolaterie stors. The chocolate are tasty, and they have a big collection of flavors. The price is a little bit high. Yet, it is worth trying. You will visit them again and again!
