Crema's Take

Tucked into a beautifully restored brick building with a patio that overlooks a flowing creek, this brunch destination has become a beloved gathering spot since reopening in Ashland. The team pours genuine care into both their coffee craft and their hospitality, with staff who go out of their way to make you feel welcome whether you're a regular or dropping in for the first time. Come for the creative specialty drinks and locally sourced breakfast, but stay for the unhurried atmosphere that makes it feel like time slows down in the best way possible.

Our party of four went there for late breakfast. I had been going to what was once Alex's Restaurant since 2004, but then it closed for quite a while until the BrickRoom opened. Quite beautiful setting. Outstanding service with TLC per Addie. There is nothing like a beautiful smile to start an experience vs the grumpy one we had at Tartine in Medford. I had the Huevos Rancheros, and my wife and our friend "Young" had Joe's Scramble. John had the breakfast burrito. All of us were very content and would not hesitate to recommend the BrickRoom. I would say that the Huevos Rancheros there is even better than Memos.

My husband, daughter and I visited the Brick Room for brunch and we were absolutely delighted! The decor is super cool, the service top-notch, and the food was delicious! The workers seemed to be having so much fun, singing along with the music and dancing. Loved it!!! My daughter had a burger and fries (which she said are always the best), my husband had the biscuits and gravy (rave reviews), and I had the Florentine Benedict which absolutely melted in your mouth. The potatoes that came with it were excellent. Will definitely come here again the next time we visit Ashland.

We came two days in a row for bunch. We were some of the only ones there for Friday brunch and had an incredible bartender/waitress who was so helpful, cool, and friendly. She was one of the reasons we braved the more busy Saturday brunch and even with the crowds the vibes at Brickroom were immaculate. Can’t say enough about the staff, and the only thing better was the food. Really great food with gorgeous presentation and attention to detail— again, that can be hard to come by on a busy day so we were so impressed with the quality of care from the entire Brickroom team. You may see us again tomorrow 🤭

No dice. We understand staffing issues are often beyond the control of restaurant management but at some point, ya gotta acknowledge the customer and apologize. Obviously they were short staffed on a Saturday morning in August. Ashland was packed and rainy so cafes were *busy*. Everyone hustled *hard* here but the place was half full and after a 5 minute wait at the host stand and FORTY minutes after being seated, we had still gotten not one word of acknowledgment from a server. Nothing. I think of us as pretty understanding but ya gotta at least say you’re sorry. We had a 1:30 play & were hungry so we bailed at Noon. 45 minutes of coffeeless salivating was enough. Too bad. The menu looked great, the drinks looked awesome and the decor was very nice. Maybe you’ll catch them on a good day. We didn’t and there are plenty of other choices. We headed to a fully packed Brothers who warmly greeted, quickly seated & served us right away.

This was a lovely meal. If you sit outside on the patio you can listen to the creek flowing. They have an awning and umbrellas for the outdoor dining. The food was locally sourced and yummy. The menu wasn’t too long, but everything was done well. We were pleasantly surprised by the baked olives served warm with herbs. The loaded fries! You can’t go wrong with bacon. We went in a group and everyone loved their food and craft cocktails. The hummingbird and Mary Sue were our two favorite cocktails. It is on a second floor so make sure you’re looking for it.
