Crema's Take
“Mari Vees is a charming neighborhood brunch spot in San Marino that's earned devoted regulars with its thoughtfully crafted coffee drinks—like their standout iced caramels topped with dreamy cream—alongside a diverse menu of pastries and light bites. The staff's genuine warmth and the easy vibe (with both cozy indoor and outdoor seating) make it feel less like a scene and more like a place where you actually want to linger, whether you're stopping by on a Sunday morning ride or settling in for a proper brunch without the crushing wait times you'd find elsewhere.”

This seafood restaurant has closed down, and I haven't been here for over two years. It has a new owner and has been converted into a brunch place. It's still very popular. I ordered their signature dish and a dessert.
A charming neighborhood cafe with diverse menu of yummy eats. There is something for everyone. The staff is warm and friendly. If you are in the area, this is a must try place. A lot of people like breakfast all day places. I actually don't care for most breakfast items. This restaurant serves both breakfast and lunch all day which was perfect for me.
Out for a Sunday morning motorcycle ride, stopped here for coffee and pastries. The latte was better than expected, the iced caramel latte was topped with a dollop of heavenly cream, the croissants filled with what ever we were missing. Our waitress, Laura, was the best of all. Kind, attentive and so personable. We'll be back!
We wanted to get Sunday brunch, and chose to stop by. Street parking only, but it was not difficult to find parking. Both indoor and outdoor seats were available. We put our name on the sign-in paper at the front, and were being seated shortly after. Minimum and clean decoration, which made me feel comfortable. Service was fast. We ordered a matcha latte, tuna melt panini, and chilaquiles with beef (+$6). Matcha latter was a bit too sweet, but still have a strong taste of matcha. Chilaquiles was a disappointment! It was tasteless and dry. The egg was not running, and tasted like rubber. Beef is chopped into tiny side that is closed to grand beef. The beef was chewy and tasteless. The tuna melt was decent, and the fries that came with it was very good! The fries was the best in this meal (2 stars for the fries). Not worth to add $6 beef for chilaquiles. Price is a bit on the pricey side. Will probably not stop by again.
I like this place a lot; it’s a brunch place that gets relatively busy without ridiculous wait times, unlike like some places in Pasadena. Parking is easy with marked parking spots outside the restaurant. The chilaquiles are a standout and are worth the price. Eating out is expensive these days and while the prices are still high, I think the reasonable wait, service, food, and overall portion sizes make eating out more enjoyable than not.
