Crema's Take

Tupelo is a calm East Sacramento sanctuary where you can settle in for hours or grab a quick cappuccino, thanks to its welcoming staff and abundant indoor-outdoor seating. Beyond their solid traditional espresso drinks, they've earned a devoted following for creative signatures like the Wisteria Latte and late-night matcha offerings, staying open until 11pm when most coffee shops have closed. It's the kind of place regulars return to again and again—just come prepared to enjoy their excellent coffee rather than expecting much food.

It's a nice quiet place with convenient parking, but lacking in a few things. Little to no food options, only two bagels and one muffin when they were still open for 9 more hours. I got Vietnamese coffee which I was expecting to be sweet like it normally is, typically made with condensed milk, but it was really bitter. For $7 plus tip super disappointing. Maybe I'll try something else if there's a next time. It's definitely strong though which is what I wanted so that's nice. Lots of seating but WiFi has a really weak signal both inside and outside which made doing homework impossible. Cashier seemed irritated even though there was no line and pretty slow, and when I asked for the bathroom he seemed annoyed to tell me lol, but maybe he was just tired. Bathroom also needed to be cleaned, lots of splash. All in all not somewhere I would come back to at least for studying, maybe a quick coffee would be good if I try something else.

Cozy coffeeshop with lots of indoor & outdoor seating. Helpful staff and welcoming atmosphere! I ordered the Mexican hot chocolate, which was good. Drinks mostly come in 12oz or 16oz so just specify which you prefer. Street parking is very limited so you may need to park a little farther away and walk.

I used to love coming to Tupelo over the years. Practically everyday I was there during college. I had not been back in about maybe 4 years because I no longer live close by. However, today I was close and feeling the need for a pick me up. So I came by also with the idea Id hangout and work on my laptop like I always do. Everything went sour from even before I ordered. I dont have the baristas name but he was a male with a pony tail. As soon as I get to the register to order he is busy on his phone. Says hes been looking at too many screens all day. I brush it off and place my order. I went to go sit down and then I realized I needed the Wifi password. I go back up to him and ask if he knows the Wifi info. He tells me "no its down." Im shocked because there are numerous other patrons on their phones and laptops clearly on the wifi. I ask him again, is the Wifi somewhere labeled. He tells me "no i dont know the wifi I just work here." I glance and notice the Wifi labeled on a sign to the left of the register. Now I understand this guy is likely overworked or understimiulated being the only barista working at this moment. Regardless Tupelo has lost its culture and clearly is pushing drinks instead of quality service. Even though I told him I was drinking it here, he still went ahead and poured it into a plastic to go cup. So he doesnt have to do more dishes? The drink itself tasted mid and look nothing like it used to. Not surprising the internet connection had zero issue. I was disapointed enough to write this review.

I Did a little research on coffee shops that stayed open later. (Tupelo coffee & roasters stays open until 11pm) I Found this coffee shop online and decided to head over for a late evening matcha! The matcha wasn’t as sweet as I was hoping it would be but the added toppings made it Yummy! So including the convenience of time, I also loved the setup of this coffee shop! There’s a mixture of tables and sofa seating inside and the space itself was quite large which I love so much in coffee shops! There was space outside as well but as we head into the winter seasons that’s a lot less ideal around this time. I will probably visit this coffee shop in the warmer seasons so I can check out their outdoor seating. Going later in the evening also allowed for a non packed sit down smooch and that was quite lovely!

A quiet spot in East Sacramento that's perfect for working, coffee meet ups, or grabbing good coffee on the go. The cappuccinos here are my favorite, but the Wisteria Latte is something extra special for a treat. Keep an eye out for seasonal coffee and tea drinks, they are always tasty and original.
