Hana Banana

Crema's Take
“Hana Banana draws a loyal crowd to El Paso's fountain complex for made-to-order crepes and waffles topped with generous portions of ice cream and fresh toppings, though the charming concept struggles with inconsistent execution and maintenance issues. The shop shines brightest during quieter afternoon visits when you can linger over their coffee and pastries without the service hiccups that plague busier hours. If you catch them on a good day, their fresh-made crepes and thoughtful topping selections make it a worthwhile weekend stop, but consistency seems to be their biggest challenge.”

I visited on February 10 around 8 PM with my husband and ordered two crepes. We were the only customers there at the time. Unfortunately, we were never informed that our order was ready. Instead, the crepes were placed on the counter without anyone letting us know, which I found unsanitary and unprofessional. When we asked if the crepes on the counter were ours, the young lady responded, “If you ordered the crepes then yeah,” and walked away. I then asked for a fork and was completely ignored. I had to find another employee to help me. I was really disappointed with the service, especially because this is my favorite spot for a snack. I hope management addresses this so other customers have a better experience.
Very dirty. Food also tastes like old cooking oil, as if they didn’t wash the irons in months, even the cheesecake tasted old like it was sitting on the fridge for weeks. Few years ago I found staples on the bottom of my drink on this same store, I gave them a chance again and still disappointed. They don’t have lights either nor a smoke extractor working.
Doesn't look like they have done maintenance since they opened. After dark it may be more obvious, but there are 19 lights out. 2 are above the food prep counter. There are dust bunnies and the floor is dirty, but the grim is going up the walls from assumed mopping The curtains are disgusting. One door is just always locked now. The fruit was not fresh and strawberries were strting to turn. Just neglect from management it looks like. Not sure what low wage employee will be trying that hard. We like hana banana enough, it's disappointing to see this carelessness. Also it's feb 25, a little late for Christmas to still be out.
A nice place to spend half an hour if you visit the fountain complex. They offer either crepe 🥞 or waffles with ice cream and toppings, some sweets for your weekend. Have to mention their coffee particularly, mu black coffee was served while I was eating my crepes, the caramel flavoured beans released their scents into the coffee ☕, probably the best black coffee a sweets place can be.
Excellent!! My first time there, but not my first time having crepes... These were great, made fresh, topped amply. Delicious and numerous toppings to choose from, and ice cream... And smoothies and teas and coffee. Yum! Great service.
