The Grove

The Grove has some of the best food I’ve had the pleasure of enjoying, and the level of service and atmosphere should be considered by every other small business owner. It’s a very small bistro, with about a dozen inside tables and seven seats at the bar, giving it an intimate dining experience and that is most likely why my visit was so memorable. I ordered the Brussels and the shrimp and grits, both seasoned to perfection, cooked perfectly and delicious. They have a simple, yet intuitive cocktail and wine menu and it doesn’t try to be something it’s not. There is nothing pretentious about this establishment, which is a breath of fresh air compared to some other places. All in all I can’t say more as I am eagerly looking forward to another opportunity to dine here again.

Do not order take out from this place! I can’t comment on how the food is at the establishment. I drove eight minutes away and by the time I got home, my food was cold. My steak was overdone. The chicken was overdone and super dry. The flavor profile on some of the food was a little bit Weird. They also put a ton of onions on the poutine and don’t state that in their menu. I called complained was told I would be hearing from a manager the next day never heard a thing. I’m not one to complain that much about food but when I pay good money for it, I expect to have good food. Just a little warning if you’re planning on ordering.

Cute little spot. The ceilings are really pretty and we felt transported. I really enjoyed my croque madam. Only complaint was it was a bit chilly.

Absolutely loved the ambiance and décor of this place, and the customer service was excellent. We sampled a few drinks and appetizers, all of which were delicious. One appetizer felt like it could use a bit more flavor and salt, though that might just be my personal taste. The drinks were fantastic, and I’ll definitely be back. Such a charming little gem in Penngrove!

I stopped by on a Saturday afternoon to check out this new place. After experiencing the ambiance and having a couple of delicious cocktails couldn't wait to come back and try their food. Was able to return with a friend who as I am a "seafood lover". We experienced their "HAPPY HOUR" menu and ordered a couple of their special cocktails and enjoyed the Anchovie Toast, OMG like a Ceasar Salad, in a few bites!! Forget that Avocado Toast!!The freshest local oysters on the Half Shell, their BBQ'd oysters, then got their outstanding chef to indulge us with an couple of his rendition of Oysters Rockefeller and so throughly enjoyed the Fried Green Tomato's!!! I couldn't be happier to have found a wonderful dining experience in the wonderful town of Penngrove! The Craft Cocktails, there is something for everyone!!! Have reservations made for another experience there in a couple of weeks. It is charming, welcoming, and a place to have a great time, and totally affordable. Cute outside back patio and a very special booth inside, reminiscent of a true SPEAKEASY!!! Be back very soon!
