Crema's Take

Blank Street in Coolidge Corner has earned devoted regulars who rave about the staff's consistently warm interactions and creative matcha program that goes beyond the basics—think seasonal surprises like carrot cake and Earl Grey matcha alongside their solid traditional espresso drinks. The bright, open space with ample seating and bathrooms makes it genuinely laptop-friendly and conducive to lingering, whether you're grabbing a Vanilla Bean Matcha Latte with an almond croissant or settling in for a longer stay. While the $6 price point might seem steep compared to nearby Dunkin', customers find the quality and creativity justify the investment, though service consistency can be spotty during busy times.

I rarely come on here to write reviews but felt the need after having so many consistently amazing interactions with the staff in the Coolidge Corner location. I stop in every now and then during my work day and am always greeted warmly by the team who is effectively managing busy student crowds. I often run into Irene behind the register and she does a fabulous job of managing her front facing position and communicating kindly and efficiently with the rest of her team. She deserves a shoutout! I will add I’d love to see some more allergy friendly options, as the selection can be limited for those with restrictions.

Came by for a quick breakfast and enjoyed their Vanilla Bean Matcha Latte and an almond croissant. The space is bright and open, with a variety of seating options. There are also two bathrooms. It was early on a Monday morning so it was pretty empty, but it can get pretty crowded on weekends.

I was extremely skeptical at first, $6 dollar drinks down the road from a Dunkin???? Who do you think you are!! But after giving in and trying it a few times, I can safely say they’ve won me over. The drinks are quite unique, and, while a bit pricier, they definitely are worth the occasional splurge. I really really REALLY enjoy the strawberries and cream latte, which I panicked and ordered the first time a went. I can’t get the flavor out of my head! It’s so good! I’ve only had coffee so far, but I can’t wait to try the matcha. If you want to order ahead, get the app! They are on DoorDash, but I’ve only ever seen it marked as unavailable. The app always allows ordering! My only qualm is that I once went it and stood at the register for a few seconds while one of the girls working looked at me and then continued her conversation with her coworker for about 30 seconds, before coming over and begrudgingly asking me what I wanted. However, that was a one off. For the most part, I’ve had great service there too!!

Love Blank Street! Their matcha is always incredible! I have really loved their seasonal matches, including the carrot cake matcha (fall) and Earl Grey matcha (winter). The strawberry shortcake matcha is a classic along with the daydream matcha! Those are year round classics that never miss. I prefer them iced, but they are great hot as well. I’ve also enjoyed their coffee/espresso beverages. My favorites always tend to be the shaken lattes and cold brew lattes with oat milk or almond milk. When in doubt I order the matcha over coffee here because I think the matcha tends to be most consistent, but the coffees are always still pretty good. The service is always quick and friendly. It’s a beautiful storefront with lots of natural light and a decent amount of seating. I also like that, I can order ahead on the app and pick up on the go.

The coffee and cappuccino tasted good, but the place was severely understaffed. There weren’t enough people to keep it clean—there was trash on the floor everywhere. They also ran out of ingredients early, like matcha. It could’ve been a better spot, but it wasn’t the quiet, cozy café I was hoping for. It felt a bit too hectic. Also, no bakery and just coffee.
