Crema's Take
“Tucked inside Tempe Public Library, this cafe strikes a rare balance between casual caffeine stop and peaceful study sanctuary, where baristas are genuinely accommodating about customizations and the vibe stays soothing whether you're working solo or bringing the whole family. The thoughtful staff recommendations and curated displays give it a bookish charm that goes beyond typical coffee shop fare, making it feel less like a transaction and more like discovering a friend's favorite reading nook.”

This library is a great place for kids and adults, it's super welcoming to every one. Very peaceful and soothing for your energy, the variety of books for kids and adults is amazing , they even have a book store with super super affordable books and great selections. The cafe is great , they have a lot of choices from food to drinks like coffee and smoothies , healthy snacks and sweet snakes and they are affordable And very good ! It's such a peaceful place to be any day of the week. They have lots of fun small activities for kids , just got a know when they have them , very informative. The restrooms are dirty a lot of the time , but otherwise such a great place to hang out.
im here every summer for the summer reading program festivities and the workers are always super nice and are okay with substitutions if you want to swap something out for something else
Was being harassed in the coffee shop by another customer. I told the main barista in the coffee shop this morning at 1130am on Wednesday 04/30/2025 and a librarian and they refused to assist me. I would not recommend this library and coffee shop due to this and the unclean restrooms, unfair treatment of patrons, and poor customer service.
While visiting the Tempe Public Library, I decided to browse a bit and was pleasantly surprised. They have a huge wall of staff recommendations and displays featuring trending or viral topics, which makes discovering new reads really fun. I also stopped by the Connections Café to try their coffee—unfortunately, it was a letdown. $7 for a 16oz cold brew that wasn’t great. Cute little spot to sit and read, but I’d skip the coffee. One of the best parts? They sell used books for just $0.25 to $0.50, including large print and regular editions—a steal! Overall, a great library with some nice perks, but the café could use improvement.
Great! I love this cozy spot right in Tempe Public Library. It's so convenient that you can grab some snacks or beverages to keep your tummy from rumbling and to keep you energized while sitting, lounging, browsing, or studying at the library. When I came, I did not see much of a line. It was just myself. I took advantage of their posted special- $1 lemonade. It was not too sweet nor too sour. Just the perfect amount of refreshment for a sweltering summer day. There was also some coffee flavors and some yummy pastries to choose from as well. Additionally, the cashier lady working that day was very nice and efficient.
