Crema's Take

This charming beachside hut in Del Mar has earned genuine affection from regulars who rave about their properly executed cappuccinos and excellent egg sandwiches, with staff like Emma known for going the extra mile. While they excel at espresso-focused drinks and breakfast offerings in a cute, laptop-friendly setting, the shop struggles with operational consistency—closing down the kitchen too early, occasional order mix-ups, and website accuracy issues that frustrate both walk-ins and online orders. If you catch them during their prime hours, you'll find a lovely spot for specialty coffee and pastries, but timing and attention to detail appear to be their achilles heel.

I arrived 5 minutes before closing (1:55) and they already had turned off the coffee machine and oven, so I couldn’t buy lunch. You should be able to sell the things on the menu until closing time. Update: I arrived this time half an hour before closing time, same thing. Why don’t you just close earlier?

This little hut is so cute! We got great coffee and Emma was so helpful! We're already planning a trip back this afternoon.

Great tasting cappuccino. They know the right way to make them. I also love the egg sandwiches for breakfast. I go there every morning when I stay at the local Hilton

After waiting for 10 minutes with nobody before me, I was given the wrong sandwich and told they were sorry. I work in the office park and had no time left on my lunch to wait for what I actually ordered. Luckily I am not vegan as that was the sandwich I ordered. This is what I paid $10.50 for. One piece of thin sliced roast beef, cheese and arugula. Definitely not worth the time or money.

I ordered from the Copa Vida web page for pick up. The address listed on it's website for this location was incorrect (whereas Google has it right). Coffee was good but the bacon brekkie was not good (the bread was burnt and the egg was not fresh scramble eggs as stated on their menu)
