Crema's Take

Trackside Cafe inhabits a charming old railroad building in downtown Exeter where the vintage bones of the space match the quality of their breakfast—think perfectly executed eggs Benedict with house-made corned beef hash that keeps people coming back. It's the kind of place where friendly servers remember you're there for a relaxed morning, not a quick transaction, and there's enough seating scattered through the space (including a hidden back patio) that you don't feel rushed even when the Sunday morning crowd rolls in.

For Sunday breakfast I stopped by Trackside Cafe. At 10am, a decent line had formed waiting for tables. My friend and I opted for counter seating, which had immediate availability. I ordered the loaded sausage omeletee ($14.99). This came with choice of home fries or beans (I opted for the home fries) and toast (I opted for rye). This arrived w/in 5 minutes of ordering. The portion size seemed reasonable, and everything tasted simple, savory, and homely. I would ask for nothing more at a quiet neighborhood diner (and one attached to a convenience store, at that). Service proved pleasant, with coffee proactively topped up. The waitress offered to fill up a to-go cup of coffee at no extra cost as I settled the bill . As an aside, one of the parties waiting for a table came straight from the Sig store & range. I imagine that events or competitions there would lead to a surge of patrons.

Classic hometown diner vibes with friendly staff and affordable breakfast options. Definitely worth a stop in if you're in the area.

Trackside Cafe at 66 Lincoln St in downtown Exeter, NH is a little gem! Such friendly and caring servers. The location in the old railroad building is super cool, along with their railroad themed decos. The food was very tasty and we look forward to our next visit! I loved my eggs Benedict, with the thick ham slab! Mmmm good. And the home fires are really tasty. Hubs loved his omelette, French toast slice and home fries. We ordered a grilled muffin too, at our server’s recommendation and, tho it looked horrible when it arrived, it actually tasted good. If you haven’t been to Trackside Cafe yet and you like the hometown cafe vibe, you gotta get yourself there! You can shop too if you need any supplies in the attached market. So convenient :)

I recently dined at Trackside Cafe in Exeter, NH, on a Saturday morning at 8:00 am, and it was a great experience. I had the "Irish" Benedict with homemade corned beef hash, which was excellent. The hash, cooked to a perfect crisp as requested, was flavorful and paired beautifully with perfectly poached eggs and a rich, homemade hollandaise sauce. My daughters, aged 10 and 7, enjoyed their pancakes immensely. The Mickey Mouse chocolate chip pancake and the regular chocolate chip pancake were both large and satisfying, with the kids happily finishing every bite. The service was prompt and friendly, with only a brief five-minute wait to be seated. The hostess and wait staff were welcoming and efficient, enhancing our dining experience. Trackside Cafe’s atmosphere is charmingly low-key, offering a classic diner vibe with a unique twist—it's located inside a convenience store. The space is cozy, with just a few tables and a long counter with additional seating. The total bill for our breakfast came to just $23.48, plus a $5 tip. Overall, Trackside Cafe delivered great food, attentive service, and a pleasant ambiance at an excellent value. I’m looking forward to returning soon!

Do not let location deter you when you walk in. Yes, it is connected to a market. There are tables out back, more than just the stools visible from the door. Server was very, very nice and efficient. Service was quick. Food was very, very good. I had Irish Benedict with added spinach. Beans are sooo goods! Ask for the homemade corned beef - awesome! Will definitely come back when in the area~
