Gib's NY Bagel
2531 S Shields St, Fort Collins, CO
Crema's Take
“This Fort Collins neighborhood staple combines Gib's beloved bagels with Spoons' soup offerings in a newly renovated space that's perfect for lingering over breakfast or grabbing lunch on the go. The spot earns real loyalty from regulars despite some recent inconsistencies, with customers particularly praising the quality bagels and the welcoming, family-friendly atmosphere that makes it equally suited for casual meetings or solo work sessions. While service could use some polish, the generous food selection and spacious seating keep people coming back to what many consider one of Fort Collins' most beloved local businesses.”

want to give it more stars. good food and nice neighborhood spot. the last two times i've been (last 3 of 6 times also) i've had to make two trips to the shop instead of one, because of incorrect orders. kinda stinks. first one was 3 of 13 bagels missing from my dozen, and the others were incorrect breakfast sandwiches having to be remade. I'd say just don't offer "No Egg" as an option if it is going to be hard to get right, or have a different option in the online order system for folks that want to customize. bummer :|
Not celiac safe. The SW chicken tortilla soup I had sold as GF hurt me and I'm not super reactive. I've had that soup before, but it was different this time. I've eaten at other spoons locations dozens of times without issue. To be fair, Gib's is a bagel shop. There's tons of gluten in there. I should know better and so should they. The Gib's / spoons merger (?) probably isn't great in that regard. I should not eat there and they should no longer claim anything as GF IMO. Sorry Gib's, I did like your food back in the day when I could eat there.
My bagel is delicious! The service really lacks professionally. My family and I have been loyal Gib's customers for a long time. My son used to play hockey with Gibs owner's son. No matter what age we are or what our job is we should make the effort to be present and kind to one another!
One of my most favorite businesses in Fort Collins. I don't live in state any longer though I knew Gibs and Spoons had some kind of merging occur with their food offering at the Shields location. What a difference the in store looks like! It's very nice (updated even) and looks bigger. Still the same delicious bagels, just with the added options of soups, sandwiches, and salads now. Well done!! It will take a great ordeal of fallout to make me ever not recommend Gibs or Spoons. So since this site is combined, you get a double portion of go eat there!
Newly renovated to include both Spoons soups and Gibs Bagels with lots of space for seating. Great selection of food and drinks for breakfast, lunch and dinner for dine in or take out. The customer appreciation wall with customer photos is still there, which is great. Orders may take a while when things are busy, but the bagels and newly added selections are great. The smoothies are a treat as well, though only offered in larger sizes.
