Crema's Take

Tucked inside the Forest Park Visitor's Center, Forest Perk Cafe is a genuine neighborhood gem where the coffee comes with free refills and the egg and cheese biscuits are so good they've converted skeptics into regulars. The lemon cranberry muffins are made with real lemons rather than zest, and the friendly staff genuinely want you to discover your new favorite treat—whether that's a fresh deli sandwich or pastry. It's the kind of place where cyclists stop in after rides through the park, families linger on weekend mornings, and the bustling foot traffic of park visitors creates a lively, welcoming atmosphere.

What to expect

Classic coffee drinks done right. A slow-sit, quick-grab, outdoor seating spot, good for meetings. Full breakfast, pastries, and light food on the menu. Family friendly. Parking available.

The egg & cheese biscuit is phenomenal! I was skeptical at first, but the friendly employee convinced me to give it a try and now I'm hooked on them. A great treat on the weekend after a walk or run in Forest Park.

Firstly, I'm happy to report that exterior walls and windows of Forest Perk are strong enough to withstand May's frequent tornadic activity; I had to shelter in place while I was studying there. This leads me to my second point; Forest Perk is a great place to study. Despite…
