Jameson Brown Coffee Roasters
260 N Allen Ave, Pasadena, CA
Crema's Take
“Jameson Brown roasts their beans in-house, delivering some of Pasadena's freshest coffee in a beautifully textured, spacious space that feels worth the parking hunt. The espresso-focused menu shines through classics like their cortado and iced Americano, while their apple danish has inspired genuine devotion among regulars seeking the perfect pastry pairing. This is the kind of roastery where you can settle in for a slow sit with your laptop or meet a friend, knowing both your coffee and the atmosphere will be thoughtfully executed.”

Despite the tricky mayhem parking options, there's a lot of rugged appeal here from the open space and atmosphere filled with texture and character. I wanted that seasonal horchatta but had to stick with the February drinks. We did chai, raspberry mocha, and cardamum. First two excellent and matched expectations set by my friends parents but my cardamum was dull and lifeless. At least their pastry sandwich things are fantastic!!
a popular coffee roaster in Pasadena. spacious coffee w/ many seatings. ordered an espresso and a vegan muffin. happy with the espresso but not too keen on the muffin as the texture is really hard and taste is bland. worth checking out if you are a coffee lovers since they do have a great selection of coffee beans.
GET THE APPLE DANISH! I’m not a fan of starting the day off with sweet pastries, but oh my gosh. This was so good. Creamy, yet light and crisp. Pairs amazingly with an Iced Americano, which was also yummy. The vibe in here is cozy, rustic, open. I like how they have the beans on display. Overall I just really enjoyed my time here. Everyone was friendly as well. They had alternative milk options available for free in creamer carafes which I find rare so that’s an extra point! Coffee preparation station is also filled with honey, sugar packets, cinnamon. All the essentials and then some. The place has street parking which isn’t the worst. It’s not on a busy street so finding parking is not so bad.
It's worth making the trip out here even without the dedicated parking. Right off the freeway, this gem offers some of the freshest coffee in town, given they roast their own beans in house, mere meters away from where you order. They offer a good blend of "fancy" drinks as well as drip and espresso for people who like to keep it OG. Good selection of pastries such as bagels, croissants, and the like. A lot of seating inside and a few seats outside as well.
This space is beautiful for a roaster and the flavors justify the means! I got my standard cortado which is my measurement for coffee quality and flavor outside of a pure espresso - and I must say, the amount of savory umami flavors from this cup was out of this world. There was an impressive bouquet and richness to every sip! My second cup, naturally, was to test the style and uniqueness of their creativity. That award goes to their Coconut Breve which was mind-blowing how flavorful and balanced it was. I was cautious that it might be too sweet but it was aromatic in its fruity coconut perfume but creamy, earthy, and with a touch of sweetness on the palate. Ambiance was clean, cozy and perfect for getting lots of work done. The staff was helpful, kind and knowledgeable. Overall this was a wonderful experience!
