Crema's Take

Tucked into a beautifully preserved early 1900s building with original floors and soaring ceilings, The Pharmacy pulls off that rare combination of genuinely excellent espresso drinks and a slow-paced, inviting atmosphere that makes you want to linger. The pastry case is genuinely worth the visit alone, and the friendly baristas seem to know how to read the room—whether you're after a quick caffeine hit or settling in with your laptop for the afternoon.

We almost always stop here a few times a year when we are in town. The coffee is some of the best in town, the pastry options are delectable and delicious! The service varies on the time of day and time of week. There could be a little extra warmth and sense of welcoming from the staff, but they are always pretty busy - so it is understandable. The tables are a little rickety and while the texture of the tiles are beautiful and cool we’ve had a couple of drinks topple over due to the unevenness of them. Overall love this place, just a couple of small recommendations! Enjoy your time here definitely worth a quick stop in.

December 2025 The Pharmacy is a coffee shop and has a really cool historic vibe. I got a cup of coffee and it was good. The barista was a cool dude and very friendly. It's part of the Albert Hotel so expect this place to be kept up well.

Attentive & Friendly staff. Beautiful original floors and ceiling dating back to the early 1900s. Good coffee and a nice selection of pastries. A good stop especially if you’re staying at the local Albert Hotel.

Keidel Pharmacy (also known as “The Pharmacy” on Google) is a decent coffee shop. Coffee good, pastries good. They also have wine, beer and soda available. Food menu includes breakfast sandwiches and tacos, regular sandwiches, wraps, charcuterie, cookies, etc. Nice space, building architecture preserved. The first table we tried to sit at was dirty from previous guests. Really no reason for that, not crowded, plenty of staff, some just standing and chatting. Not very enthusiastic about ordering and service, likely late in their shift. IMHO there are better coffee shops in town.

Sometimes less is more, and this gorgeous establishment is an amazing example of that. From the simple yet poignant decor to the delicious pastries displayed in the case, this is the place to stop and get away from the crowds. Ordered: 1. Classic Lemonade 2. Ginger peach mango tea The day was hot, but these cold teas helped immensely. Grateful to the people behind the counter for keeping up with the long lines. Great service!
