Crema's Take

This beloved Chicago spot masterfully bridges the gap between serious specialty coffee and exceptional Latin-inspired sandwiches, with crispy-bread creations like their famous Ropa Vieja and inventive tater toast that rival the espresso drinks. The space itself strikes that rare balance of being both a quick caffeine stop and a genuinely cozy destination for lingering conversations, backed by staff who move with practiced warmth and genuine care. Everything here—from the freshly pressed sandwiches to the thoughtfully executed coffee—tastes like it's made by people who actually care about quality, not just efficiency.

The sandwiches at this place are truly some of the best I’ve ever had. The bread is thin and perfectly crispy, which makes every bite incredibly satisfying. My favorite is Sandwich #2 on their menu, which really stands out. I’m not usually a big sandwich person, but this one impressed me more than any other I’ve tried. Their hot sauce is amazing as well! I even grabbed a small bottle of it and another sandwich to go!!! I will definitely come back~~~

Cozy and welcoming place with a great atmosphere. Simple but delicious menu with fresh food and a great variety of pressed sandwiches. The tater toast: amazing. The coffee is amazing, prices are reasonable, and there is indoor seating available. 📌Parking can be a bit tricky due to the area, but it’s worth it. Clean space and restrooms, plus friendly and attentive staff. Recommended if you value details and real experiences and real opinions. 👑

Staff is super friendly and attentive, and the food comes out quickly and tastes AMAZING!! Best saltado I've had in a while. So sad we're only visiting Chicago or this would be our new regular spot

I used to come here a lot in college but haven’t been back in 10 years. It still lives up, ordered the Ropa Vieja sandwich which is a slow roasted steak with sweet plantains. It was so good. Also ordered a small bean soup, it was lacking flavor. It definitely needed more salt. But it came with a side of warm bread that was awesome. I definitely can’t wait to come back and order more sandwiches!!
