Excellent selection for a popular small town convenience store, but HIDEOUSLY OFFENSIVE customer relations. I’ve spent about $100 there this summer alone. Today I bought a 5 oz. bag of chips and a Synergy drink for $9.88 (well above wholesale prices). As I was leaving, I stopped at the coffee station to put the chips in my bag and take a sip of the drink I’d bought. I noticed my preferred brand of coffee and squirted 3 oz. from the thermos into a small size cup and proceeded to exit the store without paying attention. At that point, the cashier snapped at me in an extremely aggressive tone of voice “hey you owe for that coffee”. My leaving with the coffee was entirely accidental and unintentional, but the hawkeye surveillance and the tone of voice in which I was spoken to is entirely UNACCEPTABLE in ANY business in the United States. This is 1 of 2 convenience stores in the extremely affluent tourist town of Newburyport, MA, where this well-stocked, well-run business makes $ hand over fist, ESPECIALLY on their do-it-yourself coffee station. I’d estimate, from coffee sales alone, this store profits tens of thousands of dollars EVERY single business quarter. Therefore, snapping at a customer who just paid your business $9.88 one minute ago for 3 oz. of coffee and a mass manufactured paper cup is not only offensive & disrespectful, but an extremely poor display of business ethics and economic understanding. This business could lose a cement truck’s volume of coffee without its Profit/Loss statement being effected in any way. I gave the operator a $5 bill and left without change, as his attitude cost them ANY profit they’ll ever receive from me in the future. Not only will this business NEVER get a single penny from me ever again, I’m going to tell everyone I meet in Newburyport and here on Google to avoid it. Rude as rude gets, given the situation. Now I realize this review seems like online “trolling” and is highly critical; so be it. Profit vacuums like this convenience store business that personally offend & disrespect their customers for approximately TWO CENTS worth of wholesale coffee after that same customer just overpaid $9.88 for other items deserve to be OUT of BUSINESS, as well as deserving the scathing review I’ve tried to lay down here. If y’all are visiting Newburyport, MA, go to the other convenience store on State Street instead.

Had to resubmit the review they tried to tell me it wasn’t racism. There was a white lady at the counter she was holding my passport ID in her hand and told me I needed an amercian ID A real ID is the equivalent of a passport id. It says United States on the top of the card. Telling me to get a Amercian ID when looking at my passport card that says that on the card is actual racism I tried to tell the owner last night he did not care it’s all good I’ll keep going here I don’t have anywhere else to go. Just know they have an active racist who tells people with IDs she’s holding to get Amercian IDs.

The chicken sandwich was wonderful but the falafel bowl wasn't good.

My mother and I split a Number 10 Panini, which has pastrami, Swiss, pickles and mustard. The delightful surprise was how well the Number 10 fit inside the foil pan we received it in. It's a deeply satisfying, delicious, well proportioned pastrami. Worth the wait. 5 Stars. Highly recommend.

Good place with a few seats outside. Coffee to go is good and the sandwiches they make at the deli are good too, and you can get them all gluten free. Friendly people. Conveniently located at the Tannery. Oh, and they have a different variety of chips and snacks that I appreciate. Not the same old same old. Good place.
