Crema's Take

Crema Bodega is a neighborhood favorite where the baristas—particularly Steve and Emma—genuinely know their regulars by name and order, creating that rare coffee shop feeling of being welcomed home. While their espresso-forward approach earns passionate devotion from those who appreciate precision coffee craft, it skews toward the bold and bitter side, though their house-made syrups and creative specialty drinks offer a perfect counterbalance for those seeking something gentler.

Espresso has tasted very bitter twice now that I have tried this spot. Only saving grace the second time I visited was the house-made mocha syrup in the latte to help mask the espresso flavor. My wife got a cappuccino that was distinctly overly bitter tasting. The espresso machine likely needs to be dialed in more carefully by a pro, especially based on other reviews.. On a positive note, the baristas are welcoming and are skilled with the latte art.

Everyone who works here makes me so happy. Whenever I show up they know my order and my name. Steve is an excellent barista and so is Emma. These guys really know what they’re doing. They are a highlight of my mornings.

Anyone who rates this place badly doesn't appreciate what truly goes into a good cup of coffee. Their coffee is always consistent. The rest of their drinks as well. Don't even get me started on the food! Crafted well and always delicious! This place was here long before Rino became a stomping ground for entitled individuals with no flavor for local business.

Asked for an iced coffee and was offered an espresso drink or a cold brew. Didn’t want that much caffeine. Then asked if I could have a hot coffee with a cup of ice because I was going to make my own iced coffee and was told ‘we don’t really do that’. I then proceeded to order a Diet Coke someplace else and walk four minutes up the street to get an iced coffee. Will not be returning.

I love the coffee shop at both locations. This morning I went to Crema Bodega in Denver Central Market. Every time I have gone, this today was no exception, I have had pleasant and enjoyable experiences. The baristas are friendly, hospitable, fast, and gifted. They’re so good at doing latte art. Crema’s one of my favorite vendors at Denver Central Market. They’re selling these cups, which I think they started doing some time after the pandemic began, so you don’t have to have drinks poured into disposable cups. Yay! And, I love supporting local businesses, and this coffee shop is one of them. I recommend going to Crema Bodega, whichever location is great.
