Compass Coffee
650 F St NW, Washington, DC
Crema's Take
“Compass Coffee delivers consistently excellent, robustly flavored espresso drinks with creative signature options like their standout mandarin cardamom blend that balances bold flavor without cloying sweetness. Positioned perfectly near Capital One Arena with a neat, welcoming atmosphere, it's become a reliable go-to for DC locals who appreciate quality coffee made right, whether you're grabbing a quick cup or settling in to work. This local DC-Maryland-Virginia chain stands out from typical coffee chains by prioritizing genuine flavor and care in execution—staff are genuinely friendly and the coffee tastes noticeably better than what you'd find at bigger chains.”
What to expect
Espresso-focused, with creative signature drinks. A laptop-friendly, quick-grab spot, good for meetings.

My son chose this place and it’s pretty good and friendly. I realized it’s a chain local to DC , Virginia and Maryland. My son got mandarin cardamon drink and it’s very flavorful yet not very sweet. I got plain old coffee. Good vibe. Not super busy.
This coffee shop is an excellent spot to relish the perfect cup of coffee. Their coffee is always delicious and robust, and I like that taste. Unlike other coffee chains, I like Compass Coffee for its no-tipping policy and for not charging extra for alternative milk options.…
