JAM Parkside

301 Parkside Ave, Buffalo, NY

Crema's Take

Nestled across from the Buffalo Zoo in the charming Parkside neighborhood, Jam draws a loyal crowd with its warm, laid-back atmosphere and solid espresso-focused drinks that pair beautifully with fresh pastries and egg-and-cheese bagels. The staff consistently wins praise for their friendliness, making it an ideal spot to linger with your laptop, meet a friend, or simply escape the hustle—though be prepared that quality can occasionally waver behind the counter. It's the kind of neighborhood gem that feels like a genuine community gathering place rather than just another coffee shop.

Jam is such a lovely addition to the Parkside neighborhood! lovely coffee shop with delicious coffee and desserts … the perfect getaway when you need a respite from everything. The staff are friendly, service is excellent, and the place is an absolute gem! Keep up the good work!

This place is just fine. Seems like “baristas” can’t make a good espresso drink. It’s always been a cool location, but the coffee has gone downhill. Staff is hit or miss and the last time I was in I waited 15 minutes plus for a cappuccino and hot chocolate with 4 people working and only a pair of drinks ahead of me. Staff was super inattentive to everything but their own conversation. You want your coffee shop to be good with the details or why would we go. I am sure I will be back because of where it is, but I will likely hold off on the tip next time.

Stopped by after visiting the Martin House designed by Frank Lloyd Wright that’s a few blocks away. Drip coffee waa served in a mug and freshly brewed for me. My wife and I ordered a blueberry maple cinnamon scone that lacked the scone texture we expected but was sweet. We also ordered a cinnamon knot that was not fully baked.

The staff here was super nice! I live in the five points and prefer pastries from other shops, but the location has a great vibe, the coffee was good, and they try some fun things with the food. Id definitely go back.
