Chef's Coffee Shop
13 E Live Oak Ave, Temple City, CA
Crema's Take
“This beloved diner is a genuine community gathering spot where generous portions and reasonable prices come with genuinely warm service that shines even during the rush. While opinions on the coffee and food quality vary, the real draw here is the full breakfast menu—particularly their standout corned beef hash, biscuits and gravy, and pancakes—paired with a pleasant, unhurried atmosphere that makes it easy to linger for hours. It's the kind of place where you're just as likely to strike up a conversation with a stranger at the next table as you are to become a regular.”

What a wonderful little diner to come across. The food was wonderful, the staff super friendly, the portions generous and the price was very reasonable. Met a gentleman in the table next to me who said he has been coming here since he was a little boy and it's always been this way.
Love this place! Staff is always friendly even during a rush, Food is really good with good prices. Even made me fresh coffee when asked. Been to Chef’s multiple times and never had any issues.
The restaurant used to be a lot better years ago. I haven't been here in at least 10 years. The food was ok, the selection was ok, the food itself was kinda bland. I must say, the gravy in and of itself was delicious. The biscuits not so much. Everything else was ok. The portions were nice, just would have appreciated more flavor.
The location has a pleasant atmosphere, which makes it an enjoyable place to visit. However, I found that the food and coffee did not meet my expectations, as they were of very low quality. Because of this experience, I would likely consider other options the next time I want to invite someone or decide whether to return.
The breakfast here is awesome. It's hard to find a place that makes a good corned beef hash and biscuits and gravy. Chef's coffee shop does a great job with both. Their pancakes are decent. Staff is friendly and the regulars who inhabit the diner in the afternoon give the place a grandparent's house atmosphere. I would definitely prefer this place over Dennys.
