Crema's Take
“Rising Sun Cafe has recently found its footing under new management, earning genuine warmth from regulars who appreciate both the quality of their breakfast spread—from scratch pancakes to standout French toast—and the personal touch that comes from attentive staff and an owner who's present in the space. It's the kind of spot where you can settle in with your laptop for hours or gather friends around generously-portioned comfort food without feeling rushed, creating a rare blend of casual accessibility and care that keeps people coming back.”

An underwhelming experience, to say the least. Had a craving for chicken and waffles and came here just for that. I left no longer craving CnW maybe ever again because of their take. Chicken was beaten to hell and way over fried. Came out dry and I couldn't even eat half of it because it was like leather. My girlfriend did like her salmon bowl and said hers was 8.5 out of 10. So not all awful, just not inspiring. Service was good enough and the place is quaint and nice. I have been here before and it was much better, just this visit was less exciting.
My experience at Rising Sun Café was exceptional. Catilyn provided outstanding service, attentive and genuinely welcoming throughout my visit. I was also impressed that the owner personally came to my table to ensure everything met expectations — a thoughtful gesture that truly elevated the experience.
I recently stopped in to try breakfast at Rising Sun Café, especially after hearing they were under new management. I ordered the pancake platter, which came with buttermilk pancakes, scrambled eggs, and bacon. I also added a side of fried potatoes. The pancakes had an odd aftertaste—almost like non-stick pan spray—and while they were soft and moist, they tasted a bit undercooked. The bacon was cooked perfectly and came out crispy just as I ordered. The eggs were the weakest part of the entrée; they seemed under-seasoned and possibly could’ve used a splash of milk for a better texture. The fried potatoes, however, were the highlight of the meal. They were crispy and well-cooked, though slightly over-seasoned—but still very enjoyable. The service was amazing. My server was friendly, polite, and kept my drink filled the entire time. Overall, while some parts of the breakfast could use improvement, I do plan to return and try lunch or dinner. The service alone made the visit worthwhile.
Today me and my friends had the great pleasure of stopping by this cafe. It was our first time here and our experience was amazing. The burgers were big and flavorful and I was able to take the rest home for dinner. Our waiter was very attentive and gave great advice as to what to eat. My friends and I also enjoyed to strawberry and nutella waffles . Most waffles in restaurants are either too crunchy or soft but this was a perfect mixture of both . If you ever get the chance eat here you won’t regret it.
The food was amazing! I ordered the haystack and some banana and strawberry brioche french toast. They weren’t super busy when I went so the food came out quickly. Cody was very kind and so much fun and to chat with! I highly recommend trying this spot out!
