Java Plus Cafe & Catering
211 N Broadway, St. Louis, MO
Crema's Take
“Tucked inside the historic Metropolitan Square, Java Plus is a reliable weekday spot where early risers can grab prepared breakfast items like fresh salads, wraps, and croissants without the wait. The drip coffee earns genuine praise, and the friendly staff keeps the clean, wifi-equipped space welcoming for quick meetings or solo work sessions, though food quality can be inconsistent. It's best approached as a convenient neighborhood cafe for your morning coffee and a simple bite rather than destination dining.”

Inside the historic Metropolitan Square- a perfect place for an early bird no wait breakfast with cool salads, wraps and fresh fruit waiting prepared for takeout
I have tried this place a few times and every time I’ve ordered it’s been disgusting, overcooked, and has NO TASTE! 1st: Breakfast Platter was tasteless and not what I thought I was ordering. 2nd: Omelet was so dry, overcooked and had so much ingredients I didn’t even taste the egg. Those potatoes are soggy and tasteless as well. 3rd: Soup/Salad-if you have a taste for hospital food that’s tasteless and just threw together then go here. Before knocking something or giving a review I try to give them chances but unfortunately this one did not make right 😩 HARD EARNED MONEY THROWN DOWN THE DRAIN because of HUNGER! If you like food with NO TASTE and small portions with big prices be my guest.
Came to takeaway breakfast on a weekday. Ordered a ham egg & cheese croissant sandwich and a veggie omelette with cheese and an iced coffee. Pleasantly surprised the omelette came with hash browns they were yummy. The omelette was overcooked for me and it didn’t have spinach inside as I requested. The ham croissant sandwich was yummy. Great iced coffee! I’d definitely come back for lunch
9/23/2022: Friendly staff. Clean dining area. Ordered an omelette and a biscuit and gravy with coffee. The drip coffee was really good. Omelette was overdone. Biscuit and gravy was okay. Disappointed in the amount of disposable cutlery and paper cups for dine in.
I'm glad to see The establishment has a lot of five-star ratings. Maybe my experience was a one-time off event. The sandwich was pretty decent. It tasted as expected. As all my reviews will attest to, customer service is the most important thing to me! If I'm courteous enough to hand you by method of payment, please do not put my credit card or money on the counter for me to scoop-up. With all the five star ratings, I would still recommend you give them a try.
