Crema's Take
“EasyTalk is a dual-personality gem that pairs an approachable front room serving creative cocktails with a speakeasy-style back area, making it equally perfect for casual meetups or special nights out. While consistency has been spotty with their specialty drinks, the standout experiences—thoughtfully crafted cocktails, warm service, and distinctive atmosphere—keep locals coming back for the full experience. The late-opening hours and reputation as a community favorite make it a natural gathering spot for anyone seeking something more intentional than typical Winston-Salem nightlife.”

Been here couple times and service and product was top notch. Unfortunately this last time I wish I could say the same. Ordered a chi tea and it was nothing but unsatisfactory, not to mention over $6. The female who prepared my drink was the least personable and seemed very inexperienced. Later when that female staff was not present but rather the owner was there, I asked for a chi tea latte. Was informed it would be 25 minutes. Not impressed, and will never be back. If you’re a tourist, I highly recommend Caminos up the street. They have by far friendlier staff and have better products.
Third time is NOT the charm. We went one summer evening to Easy Talk and then spent time at their sister bar Talk. It. Was. An. Amazing. Experience. We the went back two more times - both times the bar was closed for private events. OK. I can respect that. The folks told us to check their Instagram before coming next time. Fast forward to 12/6....we checked the Instagram. There was no notice about a private party. So, my friends and I went for a drink before calling it a night (~10pm). Before going, we checked the socials - nothing about a private event. We arrived (now for the third time in as many months) to find a hand written note on the door letting us know Easy Talk was "closed for a private event." This was the third time. We inquired inside about their having been nothing posted on their Instagram about being closed. A representative came out to offer drink tickets for future use, but we weren't inclined to accept them. After all, we'd checked the socials before coming. It was disappointing. It is a wonderful place with a great atmosphere and wonderful cocktails. I was disappointed - for the third time. It's unlikely we'll go back.
Our favorite bar in Winston-Salem - we always have so much fun when going to EasyTalk. They have a great cocktail menu in their front room ('Easy') and a speakeasy-style area in the back (this is the 'Talk' space). Talk is open in the evenings and rolling the dice to determine a fun new cocktail for us to try out keeps us coming back!! Such a unique experience and their bartenders are super knowledgeable.
I've been here a couple times now and all I can say is...WOW! This is by far my favorite place to go in Winston for a unique, perfectly crafted cocktail. The service, ambiance, and decor are all the extra cherries on top! This speakeasy is really small, seats 4 people at the main counter and a few more adjacent to the wall. Despite its size, the bar is fully stocked and instead of a normal menu with a variety of offerings, they instead invite you to pick from one of four "experiences" - bartender's choice (based on a conversation about your interests/palette, the bartender creates a fitting drink), roll the dice (3 dice each with different spirits, flavor profiles like rum/whiskey, shaken/stirred etc), pick 3 (bartender creates a drink with 3 major spirits/ingredients and you try to guess which ones), or a flight! Both times I've come, I've rolled the dice just because it's so much fun and the drinks they've made were delicious. I love that you get such a curated cocktail and experience here, the idea that you can have something so delicious and won't ever really be able to recreate it again- it makes you savor each sip that much more. If every city's got its place it's known for, this should absolutely be Winston's!
Stopped by to check out Easytalk during a trip home with a few friends. Very cool and lovely place for a date night or to catch up with friends. I had a really good time. Pleasantly surprised to see such a cool vibe in the city. Here are my takeaways: Environment From the outside you wouldn't think this intimate, chill and laid back spot existed. The dim lighting, colorful and creative art and seating areas give this place a ton of personality. When you walk in there is kind of like a cafe area with a few seats and a bar area. You can then walk down a hallway with more seating with sofas and areas for larger parties and then there is a really nice intimate patio in the back - not terribly big but enough for a small party. And then you have the "private bar" in the back meant for a smaller parties and a more intimate customized experience. I really loved the ambiance and the vibe. Service Most of my service happened in the "talk" portion of the bar/lounge. They seemed to have split up the space into two sections: the easy area where you can grab a drink at the bar from the selection they have on the menu or you can go to the "talk" are which is a more intimate and customized area whether they have a selection of games or options you can choose from to eventually get to your drink. One being rolling the dice, another being having a conversation with the bartender about what type of drink you are looking for and they make something up on the spot. This was really fun for our group and allowed for more conversation and more of an experience. The bartender was great and knowledgeable and knew what they were doing. They accommodated our party which actually was larger than they usually would allow - that was really nice of them to do. Food and Drinks I didn't try any food - i'm actually not sure if they had any food. The main mission was the drinks. As explained earlier most of my experience was in the "talk" section of the bar - an intimate space in the back with it's on bar for small groups of people to experience. I think they prefer groups of 4 or smaller in that space. while there you can choose from a few different activities to find the drink for you. I rolled the dice for one drink and then talked to the bartender to give him an idea of what I would like and he made a drink based on our conversation. Both drinks were really good, flavorful and strong. Love them and will definitely be back for more. The overall experience was great. Overall Overall had a great experience here. Loved the environment, loved the drinks. If you're looking for a date night or a place to catch up with friends this is a wonderful place to go. I will definitely be back.
