Crema's Take

Sunset Grill is a beloved Gig Harbor institution where the staff moves with genuine warmth and attentiveness, making solo diners and large groups alike feel like regulars from day one. This isn't a destination for cutting-edge specialty drinks—it's a place where classic coffee pairs perfectly with homestyle breakfast and lunch, served in an unpretentiously charming diner atmosphere that's earned multi-generational loyalty. Whether you're settling in for a leisurely morning or a quick midday break, the combination of thoughtful service, honest food, and that rare small-town feeling makes it the kind of neighborhood spot people keep coming back to for years.

I went in at a pretty busy time of day, but that didn't stop the waitress from making sure I was seen, dining alone. She checked on me often, communicated with me when there was a hold up on one of the items I ordered, and was just plain pleasant even though she was very obviously being pulled in many different directions. I ordered the corned beef hash, highly recommend. It was delicious. And the prices were very reasonable.

Busy place during lunch but the service never flounder. The servers worked as a team. Coffees were refilled and food came out looking amazing. I had the club sandwich with onion rings. It was delicious! I'd love to go back and try other dishes.

Sooo homey! I first went here when the owner (Liz), was a server.! My kid was in a basket. He's all grown now and I still go to the Sunset often. Its just plain ol' diner food and good people. There's a bar in that back that always welcomes a stranger's conversation. The bartenders are all lovely. Sundays mornings after church can be packed. Otherwise, easy parking and seating. 2 thumbs up for the Sunset hash and the country fried steak!!! Btw, looking through Google I see just the main part of the menu mostly. There's more pages. Lots of variety.

Absolutely loved this place! The servers here were extremely friendly and attentive. The food itself was amazing, and the whole atmosphere was homey and gave off a "small town" vibe. Highly recommend this gem!
