Crema's Take
“Nectarine Grove is a health-conscious brunch destination where the barista crafts homemade syrups on-site and every dish celebrates clean, seed-oil-free ingredients—think Eggs Benedict with avocado and gluten-free veggie bowls that taste as good as they look. The spacious outdoor seating and genuinely warm staff create the kind of unhurried, inviting atmosphere that has customers wishing they could visit every other day, making it equally perfect for lingering over a specialty coffee or meeting a friend.”

Very friendly staff. Excellent description of food, presentation of food, plenty of room for people to sit outdoors. Wish they had these back in Minnesota! We would visit every other day!
No seed oils. Homemade with love and clean ingredients. Veggie no gluten noodle bowl with sweet potato's. Eggs Benedict with avocado. They have in house barista making on site homemade syrups and coffee matcha and cacao drinks. A must go if you are within 45 minutes.
As someone who is forever on the lookout for a healthy brunch cafe, Nectarine isn’t bad at all. I ordered their Morning Glory bowl and Hot Pesto + Turkey sandwich — both of them tasted as expected, but the gluten-free sourdough was abnormally dry and flavorless. After much hassle, the server reluctantly remade it with the paleo baguette (which wasn’t much better). Also, the portion size for the bowl was pretty small for the price! However, I will still say that this a great option for those who are gluten-free!
I visited this shop on Saturday around 2:00 with my wife. We ordered a coffee drink, a chocolate mint cookie sandwich and a loaf of "sourdough". The bread is not sourdough, and if it is, it's the worst I've ever had. The loaf in the bag does not look like it, it's very brown, not golden colored, so I double checked with the person checking me out that it was, and he confirmed. The bread is grainy, tart and very dense. I've had a lot of sourdough bread in my life, and this is not it. If this is Nectarine's take on sourdough, that was his opportunity to let me know it is made differently than every other loaf of sourdough I've ever had. I may not be so concerned about this had it not cost $15. The chocolate mint cream sandwich I ordered was two crumbly cookies with what tasted like toothpaste in between it. I was attempting to satisfy a sweet tooth and ate half of a Crest sandwich. I could not finish it because the artificial mint flavor was so overwhelming and there was no hint of sweetness in the 3/4" of cream. There was one other person in line ordering a drink, and when the barista put a drink down and didn't say anything, my wife inquired if that was her drink. The barista whisked it off the counter with a snarky "no". No other words spoken. Our total bill was $26! This seems crazy to me for a loaf of bread, simple decaf latte and a cookie sandwich in a parking lot restaurant that has the 5 freeway roaring in the background.
This is for Del Mar .There are no bathrooms at the Del Mar location. My pumpkin spice latte and burrito were 30.00. Average size burrito. My drink felt light when I opened it; it wasn’t filled to the top. It was warm not hot. It took 20 minutes to get my food. There wasn’t a line when I placed my order. They are super nice but when it gets busy they need more staff or a different system. Some customers that were sitting before I left didn’t get their food and had to ask for it to go. The husband ate his pastry but the wife couldn’t enjoy her meal with him. Another lady asked for her order multiple times before me. These were my observations. The burrito is good but not for 18.00.
