Crema's Take

Run by an owner with genuine expertise earned through study in Central America, Mayan Winds brings thoughtful sourcing and skillful technique to every cup—whether you're ordering a precisely pulled espresso or a nuanced pour over. Beyond excellent coffee, the pastries here are a real draw, with reviewers raving about everything from chocolate chip cranberry oatmeal cookies to banana nut muffins that pair beautifully with whatever you're drinking. It's the kind of place where the staff actually knows their beans, welcomes you to sample before ordering, and creates an atmosphere that feels like visiting a friend who happens to care deeply about coffee.

Mayan Winds is a local business worth supporting. I did not get coffee my very first trip, but the chocolate chip and cranberry oatmeal cookies I bought were out of this world. It was also lovely to be able to purchase pan de muerto and see the ofrenda up as well as a few community leaders I recognized organizing and enjoying coffee inside. I'll be back soon!

Owner has a master's degree and studied in central America, very knowledgeable about coffee and coffee beans. Made excellent suggestions and switched my order to a different bean, and made an incredibly rich and flavorful cup of coffee for the road. Also very friendly and great life experience, I recommend striking up a conversation.

Delicious. My husband ordered the cold brew and I got a cortado. We shared a banana nut muffin. The cold brew had a lighter fruity flavor and the cortado was rich and tasty. Service was prompt and she was so kind to answer our questions! Would come back!

Excellent coffee shop. It’s a pleasure to visit a coffee shop where the staff are knowledgeable about their product and can explain how the product is truly sourced through fair practice instead of just an inflated marketing claims. Katrina was very friendly and a great source of information about the coffee.

Absolutely delicious espresso, fair trade beans from Mexico & excellent service from the owner himself! He let me sample all their goodies, and I purchased whole beans and semi-sweet dark chocolate to take home, even though I also wanted to buy the honey & corn galletas! I appreciated the Guatemalan roots and vibe, and the owner showing me specifically where his family is from on the wall maps 🙂 If you want ACTUAL good coffee, this is the place!
