Crema's Take
“This downtown Flagstaff fixture nails the cozy, literary vibe with its relaxing atmosphere and thoughtfully curated space that works equally well for focused work sessions or lingering conversations. While their espresso-focused drinks can be hit-or-miss depending on machine calibration, their seasonal specials like the January double chocolate mocha show real creativity, and the fall patio is genuinely worth timing your visit around. It's the kind of place where you can settle in for hours without pressure, though the barista warmth seems to fluctuate—you might catch them on a day when they're genuinely welcoming or just going through the motions.”

I usually get americanos because they are hard to mess up, unless the espresso machine needs to be dialed or worked on. That was the case here. Shots didn’t pull right or something. There was no crema layer on my Americano and it tasted dull no flavor. I don’t like it at all and just threw it out. Pastry was good but when I ordered it the barista didn’t know what was on it. Also the barista that made my drink didn’t call out my name and someone thought that it was their coffee and took it. Also the cups that they serve the coffee in are terrible and spilt all over me just on my walk to my car. I might try the place again just because I like the cafe itself, there are lots of tables.
The theme and location of this relaxing coffee shop are a great fit for downtown historic Flagstaff. We tried the January double chocolate mocha special and weren’t disappointed. The staff was great!
This was my absolute favorite coffee shop in Flag. It's an excellent space to work, to meet friends, to read, and relax. I still love it, but it's quickly losing its spot as my favorite. The owners recently rearranged everything. They stopped serving drip coffee after 12, which was really annoying. Some of my friends stopped coming in as a result, killing a lot of the vibe. They also completely redid their seating, replacing a popular back bench with dish bins. There's about a half dozen outlets which are totally unusable by customers now, it's a silly decision given how limited their seating and outlets are. They also introduced a bizzare pick up line system which means that tourists and nob regulars get confused and wait on the wrong line. I wish they would put things back as they were. On the plus side, they have a beautiful courtyard in the back with a fire pit and a number of outdoor outlets. In warm weather, I work here more often then I work in my own office. Plus the staff are super kind and friendly. In the winter. If I'm very lucky I can grab a seat by the window and look at the Christmas lights in Heritage Square. But, since they rearranged the seating, it's increasingly hard to find a seat with an outlet. So, lately I go to Steep, Mix, or Kickstand when it's cold out.
I love their patio in the fall… coffee is good, the baristas could be a bit more welcoming, overall it’s a good coffee place
Needed coffee for my late drive to PHX and sat down for a much needed break 30 minutes before they closed. The coffee was solid, loved the quiet atmosphere but the place was still quite busy with lot of foot traffic in and out which was nice to see. Not sure if there is a better coffee shop downtown, but can’t go wrong here.
