Alchemy Coffee & Bake House
416 Linden Ave #2845, Wilmette, IL
Crema's Take
“Alchemy Coffee & Bake House is a tiny, intimate neighborhood gem in Wilmette where fresh-baked scones (both sweet and savory, often still warm) are the real star alongside thoughtfully pulled espresso and pour-overs. This family-run spot welcomes dogs and kids alike, filling its four tables and front patio with locals who've made weekend scone runs part of their routine, all while vinyl records spin in the background. It's the kind of place where "small is beautiful" isn't just a saying—it's the whole philosophy.”

We’re so lucky to live right down the street from this cozy little spot. Being able to stop in and get one of their scones and an iced mocha on the weekends is something I look forward to all week. I also order the scone wheels and highly recommend them so you can enjoy one on days they aren’t open. Julie and Blair are great. This is a wonderful neighborhood spot that has been around a long time. An absolute gem.
Our favorite weekend destination for fresh baked scones and espresso. Dog friendly and family run. No place like it. Small is beautiful. Only four tables. The best scones I’ve ever tasted.
this vanilla bomb frappe had such a strange texture it almost feels like you're drinking sand and it's a little bit unpleasant, the flavor wasn't good either, also the service feels like it's run by kids as their summer job which is fine but it's kind of weird to yell at me about why I'm waiting when they're the ones that forgot what drink I ordered lol
Best homemade scones (sweet or savory) which are often still warm, records playing, great drip coffee, plenty of seating out front and a bike rack nearby. You can pay with cash, card, or Venmo. This place is a little magical secret tucked in a quiet neighborhood. Like going back in time to a year called 2003, when the world was simpler and the scones were buttery-er.
I'm a huge scone fan, so I was very excited to try the scones at Alchemy. The scone itself was great, I wasn't so much a fan of the cranberry variety because I prefer fresh fruit in a scone. I could tell that high quality ingredients were used. I also got an iced americano and I really enjoyed the drink. I wish the business was open more days of the week, I would definitely come more often!
