Crema's Take

This converted house café in Fort Wayne has earned its stellar reputation by nailing every detail, from consistently excellent coffee pulled with care to a genuinely inviting atmosphere that keeps regulars coming back for years. The house blend and seasonal offerings are solid foundations, but it's the commitment to quality across everything—including standout food like their avocado toast—that makes Crimson House feel like a one-of-a-kind neighborhood gem rather than just another coffee stop. Whether you're a longtime local or passing through, you'll find the kind of thoughtful hospitality that makes you want to linger.

I’ve been going here for years and I’ve never had a bad coffee from here!! Even if I choose to get something different it’s always the best!!! The food is also amazing!! The avocado toast very good, and a great serving size for one person!! They’re also super friendly and give out pup cups!! The pumpkin chocolate chip muffin is also AMAZING and I don’t even usually like pumpkin!!

My last coffee before moving, this place is a one of one. It is wonderful, I would highly recommend a stop. The coffee is as you would expect, wonderful! Hot Mocha, Extra Shot, Coconut Milk. That’s the order for a mocha person who wants a bit more coffee flavor!

Upgrading this from the five stars all around. The food is great, the house coffee is good, and it's one of the best little places for atmosphere that I have seen around. I have the Jefferson Street, breakfast sandwich and for five bucks this is really great deal. You can also add extra meat to it if you'd like. Great food and coffee. This nice little place was a great place to meet a friend. I would love to go back and try some of the other food.😁😁

On this week's highlighted area coffee shop, I went to Ossian to visit Crimson House Cafe. It's right on the main road through town. This is an actual converted house with a wonderful front and back porch, including plenty of seating with a few rooms that can be closed off for meetings or gatherings. There's a little selling space to browse as you stand in line to order. Upon reaching the display case you see a pretty good mix of cake pops, Reese's bars, monkey bread, giant iced cookies, and many different muffin choices. I had a medium hot chocolate that was pretty fantastic. It had whipped cream and chocolate drizzle for $3.74, which is pretty standard anymore for a hot chocolate at a coffee shop. It's one of the best hot chocolates I've had in a while. I got to meet the owner, Catrina. She worked at Crimson House at some point in the past and when the previous owners decided they wanted to move on, they asked her if she was interested. She took over the store 1-1-2023. The staff that was working the day I visited moved like a well-oiled machine. These guys have breakfast and lunch 7:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Closed on Sundays and Mondays. They do have a drive up window, which is in the photos below. It seems to be very busy and people love the convenience. I really enjoyed my visit and would like to come back when it's not pouring rain so I can sit on the porch. Have you tried Crimson House? What food item should I get the next time I go?

I'm not even sure where to start on this review; I have been to plenty of places that seem to set the bar on certain things, it is however rare that I encounter a place that sets the bar in all areas, and exceeds all expectations. Crimson House Cafe is simply magical. As a random person on a road trip from Georgia, I was greeted and treated like I was a local, it felt genuine and natural. Then my food came (jalapeno quiche, and a Jefferson Street sandwich) and the wonderful experience continued. I highly recommend this place to anyone and everyone, a wonderful experience not to be missed. Crimson House, thank you, truly.
