Crema's Take

This retro-inspired Austin spot nails that effortless blend of nostalgic charm and contemporary cool, complete with 70s country on the speakers and an aesthetic that feels genuinely intentional rather than forced. Beyond the inviting atmosphere, they're serious about their coffee—real milk-based espresso drinks—and serve legitimately excellent Italian sandwiches and breakfast fare that keeps locals coming back, whether you're working solo with wifi or gathering with family in their outdoor space.

Literally the best Italian sandwich I’ve ever had. Vibe here is incredible. 70s country classics playing, great aesthetics. Feels nostalgic and new at the same time.

Sorry to post this, because we live nearby and so wanted to love the place, but the food is literally terrible in our experience. Second time coming today and the brat wasn’t even hot (barely warm!) last time the cheese fries were not good (how is that even possible?) salad totally meh. It’s like the kitchen staff doesn’t know how to cook? Great space inside & out and very friendly service at the bar, but we will only come for drinks in future- if at all. Would not recommend.

So we tried High Road for the first time this weekend after having it on our list for a while. Unfortunately I was pretty disappointed with the prices. We ordered the warm oven roasted turkey and the Soppresstrracc. The food was good but the portion size was so small. With tip it was over $40 for two sandwiches and no sides. It was actually pretty crazy. The vibe was cool and the service was great but we just couldn’t get over the lack of value especially when there are so many other sandwich options in Austin.

From the moment you walk in, you’re hit with a super cool retro vibe that feels intentional and nostalgic without being cheesy. It’s the kind of place where you want to linger just to soak up the atmosphere. But the real star is the food. The flavors are absolutely delicious and the items on the menu are so creative. Every dish we tried was seasoned to perfection and served fresh. You can tell they put a lot of heart into the menu—it’s elevated comfort food at its finest. Plus delicious vegetarian options was the cherry on top for me. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, do yourself a favor and take the High Road. We’ll definitely be back!

Stoked to have a new Bouldin spot open early and late. Breakfast sandwich was hot and delicious Cappuccino with real Mill King milk Seems great for kids and families with cute little outdoor play truck and picnic table Generous patio space and plenty of indoor seating
