Crema's Take
“Purple Onion Café is a genuine neighborhood gathering spot in Campbell where the coffee is just the opening act—regulars rave about substantial breakfast sandwiches, hearty chicken salad, and chorizo burritos that justify lingering over your cup. Whether you're ducking in for a quick caffeine hit before work or settling in for hours with your laptop after a cold morning bike ride, this place nails both the speed and the slowness, with pastries and homemade food that actually taste worth your time.”

Great place to stop in on a Saturday morning after a long bike ride. It had been in the 30s overnight and was barely into the 40s so I was up for some substantial food and some hot coffee. Had a wonderful bacon and egg and cheese sandwich and bottomless cup of coffee for less than $20, including tip. This place appears to be popular with runners? The ladies at another table were all talking about the marathons and half-marathons they'd been in and were running in next. Lots of people going in and out with well-developed calves and wearing the kind of clothing that shows they have well-developed calves. Maybe there's a track or good running trail nearby. The only two "bugs" for me are they don't take cash, which I kind of agree with because who wants the people who are cooking your food, handling money? And they close at 4, and my class nearby won't start until 5:30.
Awesome chicken salad. Generous portion of chicken. Very tasty dressing and nice veggie mix. Good value, not skimpy
Stopped by to grab coffee on my way to work. While waiting I had a chance to look at their pastries and other menu items- it's worth a visit, the pastries looked delicious and the food options sounded great. Will be back. Plenty of seating inside the Cafe and outside as well - but only when it's not raining. Their double espresso latte was great.
Love this place. Great neighborhood cafe with good coffee and chai plus lunch is delicious. My go to order is a tuna melt with a cup of tomato soup. Oh and don’t forget one of their oatmeal raisin cookies! If you go there for a warm drink, an oatmilk chai is my favorite.
GREAT place for a delicious breakfast sandwich!!! Just went back for the chorizo burrito and it both fulfilling and delicious. Oh, I'm coming back for sure.
