Crema's Take

Tucked into West Orange, this surprisingly spacious espresso haven punches well above typical strip mall expectations with a library-like quiet and warm, thoughtfully designed interior that locals have claimed as their refuge for serious coffee work and meetings. Their signature creative drinks like the Cloud Coffee showcase their skill with espresso and specialty offerings like matcha, though consistency can vary depending on who's behind the bar, and their commitment to organic coffees sets them apart from the usual chains in the area.

As a local realtor, I’m always on the go meeting clients around Livingston and Forum Coffee has become my go-to spot for both business and personal breaks. The atmosphere is modern yet cozy, perfect for sitting down with a client or catching up on calls. Their espresso and cold brew are top notch, and the staff is always friendly and welcoming. You can tell they take pride in what they do. If you’re in the area looking for a great cup of coffee and a relaxing environment, Forum Coffee is definitely worth the stop. It’s one of those local gems that really adds to the community vibe here in Livingston

Several notches above Starbucks ( which no longer offers premium experience or drinks ) The Forum looks deceptively small - the interior is massive; yet quiet and the atmosphere of a library with its wood paneled walls, leather couches, recessed lighting…. To say the beverage menu is extensive is an understatement; the chai latte I ordered was fabulous and you can customize it endlessly. The sight of school kids in small groups doing their schoolwork only added to the charm.

We tried the Cloud Coffee one with espresso and another with matcha. The first time we went, it tasted amazing, but on our second visit it was prepared by a different person and the taste was a bit different. Still, if you enjoy coconut water, this drink is definitely worth a try.

The aesthetic of the place was very nice, and I love the concept of offering organic coffees. The chocolate chip cookie had a good flavor but was quite hard. I was expecting a softer texture: should’ve asked before ordering. The iced matcha tea with oat milk was tasty. However, I wish the cashier had asked if I wanted sweetener. I didn’t realize it came unsweetened since it was my first visit. The soft serve ice cream had a grainy texture and didn’t taste smooth. We ordered three soft serves, and I noticed two out of the three spoons were dirty. This was concerning and impacted the overall experience. When I’m in the area again, I might try again.

Forum Coffee in Livingston is a great spot if you’re looking for a cozy coffee shop with plenty of space to sit and relax. The vibe inside is warm, with lots of seating and a nice mix of wood and tile that gives it a classic feel. The food and drinks selection is solid. We tried the cannoli, pastries, and a variety of drinks — everything was fresh and tasted good. The pastries, especially, were crisp and buttery. They also have a small retail section with coffee beans, snacks, and merch, plus a fridge stocked with drinks and grab-and-go items. Service was friendly, and the overall experience was relaxed and easy. Definitely a good place to visit if you’re nearby or would like to meet up with friends
