Porttown Public House & Coffee Bar
123 Commercial St, Portland, ME
Crema's Take
“Tucked on Commercial Street, this hybrid coffee bar and public house draws a loyal crowd with its genuinely welcoming vibe and bartenders like Corey and Chase who take real pride in crafting both classic coffees and creative custom drinks you won't find anywhere else. It's the kind of place where your dog is as welcome as you are, and regulars linger over exceptional drinks while soaking in the relaxed, convivial atmosphere that makes you feel like you've stumbled onto a well-kept local secret. Fair warning: service can be inconsistent depending on where you sit and who's working, but when you catch the place on a good day with the right crew, it's genuinely special.”

This gem on the heart of commercial st. Is the place to go!!! The place has a great vibe with great friendly ppl. You can go in for a delicious coffee or get a killer drink!! Also the menu is on point!!
Definitely stop in for a few drinks. Corey is awesome and will make sure you're taken care of! Lots of fun!
Visited early afternoon. Should have read L Smith's review first. Exceptionally poor service. Quicker service if you sit at the bar. Table service for multiple customers very poor. Locals appear to be treated much better. Don't visit unless you are a regular.
I had an utterly disappointing experience at this hub, and I strongly advise others to steer clear. The atmosphere was cold and unwelcoming from the moment I walked in. The staff, particularly the bartender, were unfriendly—borderline rude. I waited far too long for a drink, only to be met with a scowl and zero effort to engage or make me feel valued as a customer. The vibe was off, the place felt neglected, and the overall experience was so off-putting that I left feeling frustrated and unwelcome. Save your time and money—there are far better spots out there.
We just happened upon this bar and they invited our dogs in, so welcoming and such a great vibe, Chase, the bartender can make you anything that you don't find on the menu, he is passionate about his drinks. Just a great experience while visiting Portland.
