Crema's Take

Strange Brew in Northport has built a warm, family-friendly spot where the young staff genuinely seem to enjoy what they're doing, making it a natural gathering place for both quick coffee runs and lingering visits. Their cold brew program is a defining feature—they're using it as the base for their lattes rather than traditional espresso shots, which gives their drinks a distinctive smooth character that regulars genuinely love. With solid pastries and light food like their standout spinach and artichoke quiche, plus a convenient drive-thru, it hits that sweet spot between specialty coffee shop and neighborhood gathering place.

Edit: I was angry when I wrote this this first time, the employees are always nice or pleasant but it still doesn't excuse the fact that I'm literally wasting money asking for an extra shot when 9/10 it tastes like it's less coffee put in it. Either every employee makes the orders different or most of them don't listen when I order. If I order and PAY FOR AN EXTRA shot and it tastes like you put extra sugar in my drink then OF COURSE I'm going to be pissed. I've had to turn around and get them to fix my drink several times. I want to love this please so bad but it's genuinely a gamble coming here. I HATE sugary sweet coffee, if I wanted that I would go to 7 brew. The employees are so nice but being nice will not keep me coming back. It took so long to get my coffee this morning that I didn't have time to get them to fix it but from now IF I come back I will be tasting it before driving off. I paid $8 something for a medium iced gosh almighty with an extra shot for it to taste like a pre made Starbucks frappe out of a gas station which sucks because just yesterday the employee that took my order made my drink SO perfect and it made my entire day. Now I have wasted almost $10 with no way to fix it.

Stopped Friday afternoon around 4pm because no one was there as usual to get a cup of coffee. It was absolutely awful and not mixed up. Had powder all over the inside of the cup. Ordered a caramel macchiato. Not sure if I’ll be back and not sure how they stay in business

Love every coffee I've had so far, and my kiddo likes several of their options also. Always nice and friendly young people working there. Lattes are made with cold brew and not shots of espresso, unfortunately; luckily, their cold brew is really good (but I need ALLLLL the milligrams of caffeine so it doesn't do much in that department). Will definitely keep going as we live close by. Would be 5 stars if not for that horribly designed drive there and no a-frame signs to instruct the newbies to pull to any open window (everyone stops at the first one) - word to the wise, you can't GET to the first window once someone is at the second, unless you want to do a weird parking maneuver with your car and basically back up into the person at the first window on either side, which really freaks people out ;-)

1st time going there and they were very friendly. Gave me time to look at menu and decide what to get. I went with spinach and artichoke quiche and it is sooooo delicious. Taste homemade with all the wonderful flavors blended and cheesy. I hesitate to get quiche because people can mess it up bad...not here. This was good. I had to get it because they didn't have salads, which I was disappointed but this yummy quiche made up for it. The Golden chai is also very good. I will be going to back to try the slew of coffee options they have. Come and support our new coffee place in town. Prices were reasonable too. With so many business closing around us, let's support the new ones coming in so they can stay with us.

05/31/25 - Drive thru coffee shop. I searched for a "bagel" and this place popped up. It was nice to see that it finally opened. The staff was friendly and seemed to work together. I settled on a frozen chai with Kahula flavor and almond milk. They don't have bagels, so I got a "turkey and schwiss" on wheat berry bread, lettuce, and bacon. Condiments are on the side. I pulled over in the parking lot and started with my sandwich. It was four slices of turkey and two slices of cheese. I was just going to deal with it but this "sandwich" cost $7. I walked up to the window explained the situation to the staff member. After some discussion with other staff, the staff member returned to the window and said "we can remake it". When my original staff member returned the sandwich to me it visibly had lettuce on it. I opened it and it was the same sandwich. The same refrigerated, COLD sandwich. I dressed it up and am eating it while typing this. As for the frozen chai, it tastes watery with little flavor. I'm sure if I'd stuck to coffee basics it would have been a more positive out come.
