Michael Thomas Coffee Roaster

Crema's Take
“Michael Thomas Coffee Roaster is a beloved local spot where you'll find serious espresso craftsmanship paired with a genuinely calm, welcoming vibe that keeps regulars coming back (especially for barista Peach's "meanest espresso in the city"). Opening at 6:30 a.m. with generous outdoor seating and a curated menu beyond the usual corporate offerings, this is the kind of place where you can settle in for hours or grab an expertly pulled shot while supporting a roaster that clearly takes both their coffee and their community seriously.”

Hands down some of the worst customer service I have ever received. My boyfriend ordered a macchiato with a little Carmel. The cashier immediately got annoyed at our request. The barista publicly humiliated us by saying something along the lines of "looks like we have a Carmel macchiato but not in a starbucks way", insinuating we didn't know what a traditional macchiato was. If this was such an issue, and they thought we didn't know what we were getting, it should have been clarified. And to top it off, the espresso was disgusting. I make better at home. Never coming here again. Good riddance.
Cozy, friendly, great coffee AND they open at 630a! We wanted a coffee but didn’t want to go to those big corporate coffee shops on every corner. We prefer to keep our money local. Michael Thomas Coffee delivered! Fast, friendly & delicious.
When I’m in Albuquerque, I ONLY want my coffee made by Peach! Peach fricking rocks behind the bar, makes the meanest espresso in the city! ☕️🫶🏻🖤🍑 Fantastic coffee and outdoor seating. Sit on the back patio for social time, or indoors for focus time. I did all my homework and took all my dates here as a UNM student. Came back after living in Dallas for over a year and it’s as fabulous as I remember. Took two bags of recommended beans home with me and I’m drinking them now. 😌
I'm not sure what the reviewer before me is talking about. The cost of a large cup of coffee is $4.95 not $9. If you're going to leave a review at least be honest. That said, Michael Thomas Coffee is easily one of the best spots in town for coffee lovers. The drinks are consistently excellent-rich, smooth, and made with real care. What really sets them apart is their huge selection of beans, with plenty of options to take home and brew yourself. Whether you're looking for something bold, bright, or perfectly balanced, they've got it. On top of that, the prices are totally reasonable, especially considering the quality you're getting. It's the kind of place that makes you want to come back every day.
Hands down the best coffee shop in ABQ. The vibe is so calm and welcoming from the moment you walk in. The menu has enough variety for anyone and everyone. Plenty of seating and I usually stay here 2-3 hours when I visit. The baristas recognize me now and take time to chat with me. Love this place!
