Simon's Coffee Shop
1736 Massachusetts Ave, Cambridge, MA
Crema's Take
“Simon's is a cozy Cambridge spot that excels at quick coffee runs and leisurely breakfast sessions alike, with a particular gift for matcha drinks and blueberry scones that keep regulars coming back. The tiny, charming space has genuine college-town character and shines brightest when you catch it during off-peak hours to actually savor your coffee rather than rush out the door. Fair warning though: the coffee and pastries are solid, but service can be inconsistent, prices run high, and timing your visit matters—swing by early and you might have a great experience, arrive near closing and you'll wish you hadn't.”

Disappointing, not what it used to be Can’t have a good coffee in a proper cup as they close in half an hour !!!!! If you enter in a coffee shop and you want to enjoy a good cup of coffee during normal working hours, you should be able to do it Not by employees who do not want to be there or work or close while it is still during opening hours
The food is passable but extremely overpriced. The coffee is solid, but that's the only positive I can say. The manager is always hovering, and is incredibly rude if you ever interact with him. The employee turnover is very high, so my guess is he also does not treat his employees well either. In this day and age, when possible, I try not to support businesses whose leadership is overtly mean and disrespectful.
Great experience there. Friendly staff, great deluxe breakfast sandwich, tasty coffee ☕️ We came here everyday for breakfast while visiting Cambridge !
Delicious coffee and food. I usually order an iced matcha, which is always delicious, but the coffee is also always really good. The blueberry scones are to die for! But the best thing about this place has to be the service. The team at Simon's is welcoming and friendly, and always go above and beyond for their customers, no matter if there's one person in there or a line out the door. Will definitely be going back, and would recommend to anyone looking for a nice breakfast in Cambridge.
Local cafe with a charming small college town shop vibes. Over the past few months, I've stopped by a few times to grab a quick breakfast sandwich and a latte. The shop occupies a fairly small space with about ten tables inside and a couple more on the sidewalk. It's usually quite busy, but since they don't offer free WiFi, not many people linger to study or work, so getting a table is fairly easy. The breakfast sandwiches I tried here were quite good. While they don't offer croissants as a bread option, both the sourdough and bagel choices were solid. The regular breakfast sandwiches were almost mini slider-sized, and although the deluxe option was slightly larger, it still felt small for the price. This, I suppose, could be attributed to the "Harvard Premium”. Nevertheless, for a laid-back cafe experience near Harvard, Simon Coffee does the job well. Parking is somewhat easier to find compared to the main Harvard Square area, so it’s also a convenient spot for a quick bite. If you're in the area, I recommend checking them out.
