Black Sheep Bagel Cafe
56 John F Kennedy St, Cambridge, MA
Crema's Take
“Black Sheep Bagel Cafe is a beloved neighborhood gem in the Harvard area where fresh-baked bagels steal the show, with thoughtful touches like a dedicated gluten-free toaster that speaks to their care for every customer. The cozy, welcoming atmosphere draws regulars back again and again, though the popularity means you'll want to arrive early or expect a short wait—but the team moves efficiently and the quality is worth it. It's the kind of spot where you can grab an excellent breakfast sandwich and coffee in a relaxed setting that feels genuinely community-oriented rather than corporate.”

Black Sheep Bagel Cafe is a cozy spot in the Harvard area serving up fresh bagels, breakfast sandwiches, and coffee in a relaxed, neighborhood-friendly setting. The cafe has a casual, welcoming atmosphere with friendly staff who make the ordering process quick and easy. Even when it’s busy, the line moves efficiently, and the staff are helpful with menu questions or recommendations. We got a variety of bagels and breakfast sandwiches. The bagels were freshly baked, with a good chew and nice crisp on the outside. The sandwiches were flavorful and well-portioned, with fresh ingredients and tasty spreads. Prices are reasonable for the quality and portion sizes, making it a solid option for breakfast or a light lunch. Overall, Black Sheep Bagel Cafe delivers reliable, delicious bagels and breakfast fare in a comfortable environment. Perfect for a quick stop or a casual morning bite.
Since starting at Trinket Planet, I’ve been here 3 times and every time has been a hit! Previous times have been on Saturdays where I did wait in line, but they got through the line quickly and the bagels and coffee were worth it. If you’re in on the weekends the rosemary sea salt bagel is the choice! Today I went on a Tuesday and there was no line and there were seats available. Below is the Asiago bagel with fig, bacon, and egg. Plus the sesame bagel with turkey and avocado, definitely a must try. Espresso is smooth and fantastic. Staff so friendly, and vibes were good.
They have gluten free bagels. They even toasted mine in a separate toaster to make it celiac friendly. The bagels were really good, I got a gf bagel w scallion cream cheese and and a blt gf one. Both were delicious, but I liked the BLT better. The vibes are good and cosy. Staff is great
Really good fresh baked bagels. Service was fast and accurate. The place is very nice and cozy, but seated is limited because it’s a small place and it gets really pack so keep that in mind. We were around 10am in a Saturday and it was almost full. Will come back definitely and have another delicious bagel. .
Oh my goodness. Words cannot describe the delicious aroma that was coming out of this place when I walked by. The aroma alone made me stop in and satiate the hunger inside me that instantly grew. I was deeply satisfied with the portion size and loved my deviled egg bagel. The coffee was also rather good! My only disappointment was the bagel options. I do wish there was a cinnamon rasin bagel.
