Crema's Take

HeeMee is a cozy Tucson gem that punches above its weight with creative specialty drinks like dalgona lattes alongside an unexpectedly adventurous food menu featuring katsu sandwiches and kimchi—all at genuinely fair prices that keep locals coming back. The intimate, slightly cramped space rewards those who linger to sip thoughtfully crafted coffee rather than rush through, creating the kind of "your new home" vibe that makes it worth seeking out even if you might walk right past the unassuming storefront. While their ramen leans more gimmick than substance, the coffee itself is solid and the pastries are genuinely phenomenal, making this the kind of neighborhood spot that specializes in making you feel like you've discovered something special.

Came in around noon, the place had a decent flow going on. I ordered the mild ramen and my daughter ordered a sandwich. The ramen was eh, at best. It honestly just taste like elevated cup of noodles. We then ordered some drinks, I got the strawberry match and it was so good! Before we left grabbed the strawberry and blueberry croissant and the Dubai chocolate puff... ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE AS WELL!! Highly recommend sticking with drinks and pastries here.

I ordered a katsu sandwich and kimchi as well as a dalgona latte. I ordered pickup but I think if I go back I will order there and wait. I say that but then I remember it is kinda cramped in there and was getting a little hot. But if you ordered ahead and you get coffee the coffee won’t be ready with the food so you have to wait for that anyway when you get there. In my experience. The sandwich is ok, for me. I have had better katsu elsewhere around town. I think it would be better if the sauce was on the side when it’s to go because when I got it the sauce was all on the bottom on the container and the bread was soggy The specialty coffee drink I ordered was on the sweeter side. It’s probably good if you like sweet but it was too much for me. I will try a standard latte if I go back. Their Kimchi is definitely my favorite thing I ordered. It’s spicy and pickled deliciousness. Makes my tongue pop like Alyssa Edwards. I think I got there too late to see the selection of pastries. The display was pretty empty around lunchtime.

Good value overall, and the pricing is definitely one of the strong points here. The coffee itself was solid and enjoyable, and you can tell they’re capable of delivering a really nice stop for a drink or pastry. That said, the day we visited didn’t feel like their best day. Service and overall flow were a bit off, and the experience wasn’t as smooth as we had hoped. Nothing catastrophic, just not quite clicking the way you want when you walk into a neighborhood café.

You will miss it if you’re not paying attention— and you will regret missing it. We stopped here on a day trip to Tucson for a quick lunch. Very small establishment, but the café vibes are great and almost everything we had was great! Pictured are some items we tried: cookie butter latte (10/10), pastries (did not try but looked SO good), Korean fried chicken (100/10), and the Korean corn dog (10/10). The only thing that we didn’t love was the caramel macchiato my boyfriend had gotten. Might have been a difference of preference— but the drink tasted like butter? I will not yuck someone’s yum, might have been a taste thing. Regardless, service was friendly, fast, and everything was fresh. We did have to wait an additional in 10 or so minutes for the Korean corn dog, but that is because it came out piping hot and fresh. They are only available on the weekends but would totally come back here again when in Tucson.
