Crema's Take

This welcoming Colorado Springs gem excels at creating a genuine third space where the service is as warm as the coffee, with staff who genuinely make you feel like a regular from your first visit. Beyond the espresso drinks, The Happy Cow stands out for its commitment to real ingredients—organic, seed oil-free, and locally sourced—that shine through in everything from their house-made burgers to fresh salads, making it a rare spot where health-conscious eating doesn't mean sacrificing flavor or satisfaction. Whether you're lingering over a slow coffee with friends or grabbing a quick meal, the family-friendly vibe and thoughtful approach to what they serve creates that rare feeling of coming home.

The service and atmosphere were top tier. The person that rung us up was friendly and welcoming and the food came out quickly. The food flavor was mid-tier and overpriced. A salad without meat was $14 and my husband’s burger was lacking flavor. The fries were soggy and needed more salt. Our order was $48 (not including tip) for a boring salad, burger, fries, and chicken fritters (which were also lacking flavor). I’m sure the food quality is above average but we were generally disappointed.

I thoroughly enjoyed my meal! Everything has the taste of home cooked goodness. The ingredients are fresh and good for you. They captured the perfect balance of taste while also being a healthy option. The dining room is inviting and warm with historical charm. I will absolutely be back!

Colorado Springs finally has a place that actually caters to people who care about what they eat in terms of health, that is also the amazing burgers and fries that we love so much as Americans! The fries are fried in beef tallow. They use sourdough. They sweeten their Happy sauce_ which is like thousand island_ with honey. Their flavor syrups for their coffee are made in house using coconut sugar. There is a much longer list concerning the quality of their ingredients than I even remember! But the food tasted amazing! It’s a coffee shop, burger joint, and a place with perfect conversational ambience all rolled into one. One of my favorite parts is that it is in the old Agia Sophia building, which was a place I frequented for many a good conversation. It’s not a place I can afford to eat every day, but frankly my body can’t afford to eat anywhere else. So it’s nice to be able to choose to eat out again since they have the same standards that I maintain for myself! And whether or not it’s for dinner/ lunch or to converse with a friend over a cup of coffee, I’ll be frequenting this place likely more than any other restaurant in town! Be sure to check it out!

This place is a gem! Every dish we tried was incredible, and we love that the restaurant is seed oil free and uses organic, high-quality ingredients. It feels so good to enjoy a meal knowing exactly what you’re putting into your body, without sacrificing flavor. Highly recommend! Oh and there’s a play area for kids! We love this place!

Fantastic new burger place. Locally sourced ingredients with a focus on low sugar and healthy focused offerings. They also have hand breaded chicken tenders. They also have a legit coffee shop in the morning and afternoons and are looking to expand with a few breakfast options. Cozy friendly atmosphere and staff make this a great new place to go and support! Will definitely be back!
