So good!! Took a bit of time but all good things do!
It's easily 700 degrees outside in Houston today so after walking around in third ward we popped over to ThirsTea for something cold to drink. On the corner of Scott and Elgin, ThirsTea was literally a cool breeze in the hot sun. Large windows made it bright but the awning kept it from being overbearingly hot as we perused the menu of drink options. They have milk tea, iced tea, chai, smoothies, slushies, rolled ice cream, and snacks. I got an iced pink chai latte made with oatmilk and cajun fries. The chai, pink due to a variation straight from India, was delicious. Smooth, not overly sweet, and refreshing. The fries were well seasoned and hot enough to make me do The Thing. You know the thing (hafhafhaf) you do when the food is too hot to eat immediately but too yummy to wait? Yeah, that thing. The woman who helped us was so sweet and attentive. This was the perfect stop on this hot day. I look forward to trying other things on the menu.
Pleasant staff/customer service. First time I was craving a mango lemonade and they did not disappoint. Second time came for something cold ended up getting a piña colada smoothie with mango added and Cajun french fries. Was very satisfied with both. The space is clean, cool and spacious with nice hip-hop playing. Also, they have a self serve order machine, which is cool. Will be back for sure.
I absolutely love Taro, so when my boyfriend and I were in the area, we decided to check out Thirstea. In the past two weeks, I’ve already been twice! The first time, I got the Marble Taro, which was absolutely delicious. On my second visit, I was torn between the Taro smoothie and the slushie, but the cashier recommended the smoothie—and it did not disappoint. 10/10! The staff is incredibly sweet and helpful, making the experience even better. I’ll definitely be back whenever I’m in the area!
A hit; the drink I got was delicious, the music not blaringly loud, the staff polite and pleasant, and the chairs extremely comfortable. The AC was heavenly in here as well. Perfect.
