Cafe 26
590 Avenue C, Bayonne, NJ
Crema's Take
“Tucked in the heart of Bayonne, this quiet morning refuge delivers solid coffee and pastries in a relaxed atmosphere that locals appreciate for its calm, focused vibe—whether you're settling in with a laptop or enjoying a matcha tea before the day gets busy. While service can be inconsistent and the pastry selection modest, those who find their rhythm here praise the inviting environment and quality drinks, making it a genuine neighborhood spot rather than just another coffee shop.”

We decided to stop by the morning before thanksgiving to get some drinks after dropping the kids off and had a nice time. The music was great and the environment is very inviting, especially if you are Latino. Will be back!
The owner of this cafe is lucky to have a coffee shop in the heart of Bayonne but they don't take advantage of it and don't create a warm safe place for Bayonners to get coffee and sit. The baristas are rude and hostile. If you have any questions they direct you right back to the menu. They also play insanely loud and inappropriate music. I brought my kid with me and had to leave because of the expletives. You also can't hear yourself talk over it. Also the matcha here tastes horrible. Union grounds that just opened is a lot better.
I love their coffee and food but the worker was insanely rude and said there’s no different between a latte a macchiato… then why is it on the menu? And when I asked what is the difference between it it then she said “I really don’t know and I’m telling you it’s the same” I love the regular girls here who work for there parents but whoever this girl is that’s on today 9/20 needs an attitude check !
Not a big variety of pastries but the ones they have are good. Coffee tastes good and the store is quiet and relaxing in the morning.
Are you in mid-town Bayonne and need some coffee or baked goods? This is the place to be! Here’s my take on this local cafe: The drink; I would say was up to my liking, I ordered a dirty iced matcha latte. Definitely got my moneys worth on the espresso shot added. Just my opinion but, could use a bit more dairy to dilute the bitterness of the espresso. On another note, they have seasonal drinks which is also a plus. Baked goods; you have to get the custards ! It takes some effort to snag these things up so, they do it for you! The setup; Need to study or get work done? They have plenty of seating a long table for a group and a couple nice high chairs along the windows. The other half feels like I’m in a newly renovated living room where you can gather with friends. Cleanliness and service; this is a very well kept place and service was also fast. They did put effort in decorating which was cool. Parking; well the parking is uncontrollable but it’s the downside that I found. You’re either paying for a meter or looking for an extra 10 min on residential parking. Let it be known, you can only park for two hours on residential and the local meter patrol/ “ticket people” are very active in this area.
