Crema's Take
“Sunrise Coffee is a family-owned gem in Lihue that balances laid-back island charm with genuinely excellent coffee and creative seasonal flavors that feel fresh rather than gimmicky. Whether you're grabbing a macadamia ice coffee to go or settling into their covered outdoor seating for the legendary Monkey Toast, the staff's warmth and the quality of both the espresso and breakfast food make this a destination worth seeking out, not just a convenient drive-by stop. It's the kind of place that feels equally welcoming whether you're meeting a friend for a slow morning or fueling up before an adventure.”

Sunrise Coffee has been amazing. The staff is genuinely kind and welcoming, the coffee is on point, and the fun seasonal flavors are creative without being over the top. Bonus: the food is really good too. Such a great local spot.
We just happened to drive by Sunrise Coffee whole looking for breakfast. I highly recommend the Monkey Toast-it was the best I had in Kauai. Quick service and delicious food. There are tables outside you can eat at as well.
I ordered a macadamia ice coffee and did not tasted great. Idk if it was old coffee the way it was prepared or the flavor they used. I took 2 sips and had to throw it away. I also ordered a churro donut which my son liked. Payed $14.40 for those 2 item. A lot of add-ons on the ice coffee when I payed. It was confusing as I had ordered from the regular menu latte menu. The place is nice but there are not bathrooms.
Family owned, quiet morning spot, the people were super helpful, and the coffee. Best coffee I’ve had this trip. They have a nice covered area or a picnic table right next to the truck. Food was top notch as we got the avocado toast and the açaí bowl - banana. Perfect for the local morning coffee chill spot with the bamboo and woods to just relax and sip some coffee. I will be back with a book or maybe a crochet bag to relax and enjoy a slower morning. (They do make everything quick if you are in a hurry)
We pulled off here to grab a coffee on our way to Hanapepe. The lady was nice but not friendly. The actual spot is really cute. The menu was not extensive but had a good variety of flavors and goodies. My biggest drawback was that the coffee was not fresh. We ordered a couple iced breves and she had them done within a minute. They tasted good, not great and I feel that’s why. Also they were $9 a piece….which is spendy for pre-pulled coffee. If we pay $18 for coffees, we’re expecting a freshly pulled shot. On a small island with a lot of coffee options I don’t feel this is one to stop at specifically, especially if you’re a coffee lover who enjoys fresh coffee.
