Crema's Take

Tucked into Tacoma's charming Old Town by the water, this cozy espresso-focused spot wins hearts with its exposed brick and window seats that practically invite you to linger for hours. Their house specialty coffees and creative drinks like the mixed vanilla-spiced chai latte are standouts, backed by an impressive selection of gluten-free pastries that locals rave about—think delicate marionberry biscuits and raspberry crumble bars that taste as good as the coffee. Whether you're meeting a friend, working on your laptop, or bringing family to town, the genuinely kind service and warm atmosphere make it feel less like a caffeine pit stop and more like your favorite neighborhood gathering spot.

The coffee shop is located in the Old Town neighborhood- very close to the water. It has wooden interiors with exposed brick walls, and it feels very cozy. They have plenty of seats by the window and seating at the tables is limited to 1 hour. I ordered oat cappuccino and cheddar scone. The scone was very tasty and although the coffee was more dry than what I expected, I liked it. It became busy soon after and there was a line leading out the door. The staff were nice and the service was fast.

My favorite coffee place in Tacoma. It's always super busy, but it has a wide variety of house specialty coffees that are delicious and baked goods, including croissants and raspberry crumble bars. Make sure to ask for a for here cup if you're going to be taking it there. And they do have an oven to warm up croissants, for example, if that's your thing.

One of my favorite coffee shops. I haven’t gotten the chance to eat the pastries, but I’ve had their drinks & recommend the mixed (vanilla + spiced) chai latte. The place is pretty busy around the afternoon, and it makes sense why! Staff are very friendly ☺️. The price is fair & worth the drink. Not too much ice, they even offer a 24 oz drink, drink goes down smoothly, & you can make adjustments. They do have alternative options to milk (like oat milk & almond milk) for like $0.75.

LOVE THIS SHOP! The coffee is amazing! And the selection of food is smaller but everything is just so delicious with SO many gluten free options! The marionberry biscuit is so delicate and the sweet and savory flavors are perfectly aligned!

Thank you, Curran, for being one of the best coffee spots in town! I love bringing my fam, when they visit from LA, and friends adore it too! Kindest service, delicious coffee, and the cutest atmosphere. I often order the Gemini, it’s so good with a smooth blend of hazelnut and vanilla, not overly sweet, and I love the Golden Days, which is a pink sparkling sweet drink that gives me the perfect burst of energy and happiness. There’s always overflow seating at the Spar and we love how close Ruston Way is for a sunny day coffee walk!
